They conduct coral health promotional activities in the community and perform primary and secondary preventive activities for children between 3-13 years of age. Following are the main areas of responsibilities of the School Dental Therapists. 1. Creating oral health awareness among all members “f the community. with special emphasis for prevention of dental caries and periodontal disease. "+" ; 2. Taking a leader role in the primary health care team with regard to discharge of duties in relation to preventive and promotive oral health care delivery. 3. Perform the duties assigned to her by the Community Dental Surgeons and Dental Surgeon, ADC/CDC/MOH to ensure good oral health status in mother and child. 4. Providing basic treatment for common oral health problems in preschool aged children and school children between 3-13 years of age. Provision of comprehensive Oral Health care to minimum of 2000 school children in their target group and 500 preschool children are the service standards of the school Dental Therapists annually.
