Agricultural Economics and Extension Targets

Only demonstrating the technologies for 5 years cannot be strategic issue. It rather looks
like an implementation mechanism we should go beyond demonstration like: Effective
transfer of Aquaculture technologies, as a focus should be given for the aquaculture
sector rather than capture fishery.

In the 15 years strategy for the socio economic and extension section, we should include
the following issues:-

 Effective transfer of aquaculture technologies including the integrated ones

 Development of business models to commercialize the aquaculture sector in
specific starter areas of Sebeta and Woliso
 Business incubation in the areas of fish feed and fingerling technologies
 Identification and development of communication tools for better transfer of
aquaculture technologies

Gender: - It is not only lack of gender disaggregated technology but also lack of gender
disaggregated data or information that is taken as a constraint
