• CKLA: Students focused on the letter sounds for s, f,
v, and z this week. They continued to practice orally
blending words with two or three phonemes, listening
for the beginning, middle, and ending sounds.
Students also worked on strengthening their fine
motor skills by tracing and writing these letters and
CVC words.
• Reading: Students continued to use words and
pictures to help retell the story in order, focusing on
the events at the beginning, middle, and end of the
story. They also continued to work on identifying the
main character, setting, and the sequence of events.
• Math: Students continued to work with doubles and
even numbers through exploration and partner work.
They learned different games and used the pair-wise
ten-frame cards.

• Happy Thursday! This week of school was quick and productive in Kindergarten.
• Veterans’ Day: Students learned about the armed forces and Veterans’ Day. They learned
about honoring Veterans with two minutes of respectful silence at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday,
November 11th (eleventh month, eleventh day, eleventh hour)
• Parent-Teacher Conferences: Thank you for signing up for your 15 minute conference! :)
Conferences on Monday, November 20th will be held in-person at school. Conferences on
Tuesday, November 21st will be virtual online through the “Meet the Teacher” platform.
• Please continue to have your child practice putting on their coat, zipping, buttoning,
snapping, and tying their shoes at home to help them become more independent.
