impression of her through this description, particularly what Offred recognizes about
the Commander’s Wife?

you are being given freedom from. Don’t underrate it.” What does she mean by this?

5. Once Offred has been admitted to the Commander’s house, she prepares herself for
“the Ceremony”, where he has sex with her. What do you notice about this scene and
why do you think it’s carried out in this manner?

What is the purpose of this Wall and who hangs from it?
