The Little Match Girl is a fairy tale with a tragic end. It is a very heart-wrenching
story about a poor little girl, who is sent out by her father on a cold New Year Eve,
to sell matches. Unable to sell any matches and afraid of going home because of
the fear of being beaten by her father, she huddles herself against a wall to protect
herself from the bitter cold. To keep herself warm, she lits up the matches and has
four hallucinations where she sees visions about things that she has been deprived
of.
