One of the things that this pandemic has taught people is the golden rule that: "Health is wealth." Since health
e m e r g e n c y kno w s no perso n, no time, and no place, it is critical for you to know where to go and whom to seek help from.
Such kno w l edge is life saving and also saves time, effort, and rnoney.

I. Health Professionals are individuals who gamer specialized education. training, and the necessary license to provide appropriate
preventive, curative, and optimizing health services. The following are health professionals according to the International Standard
Classification of Occupations (a worldwide organization that classifies professional occupations):

1. Specialist and Generalist Medical Doctors. They are individuals who have

successfully accomplished the, post-graduate degree in the medical field. While


medical doctor's main tasks are diagnosis, treatment. and prevention of
threats to the well-being of patients, they may specialize on a certain
disease, physical impairment. or healthcare need.

2. Nursing Professionals. They are the professionals who have


completed specialized training in providing support for doctors and care to
patients.

3. Midwifery Professionals. They are trained to provide care for pregnant


women and newborn babies

4. Traditional and Complementary Medici. Professionals. Their treatment

7. Pharmacists. They are tasked to monitor and dispense medicine, but they may provide

additional procedural instructions beyond what is specified on the • •

8. Environmental and Occupational Health and Hygiene Professionals. Their main

concerns are to promote. ensure. and boost the health status of the entire community.

9. Physiotherapists. Their role is to provide therapy to rehabilitate and maximize the necessary

movements needed for the patient to satisfactorily go about their day.

10. Dieticians and Nutritionists. They assess the current health status of their patient and

note the excess or lack of certain nutrients in their systern

11. Audiologists and Speech Therapists. Their tasks involve the auditory and speech functions

of the patient. They may also prescribe necessary devices to improve sensory functions or conduct therapy to

improve such functions.
