According to the reading, restoration ecology is practice of actively rebuilding damaged

ecosystems. The professor uses two examples to explain about restoration ecology methods.
First, he describes that cover crops helps to prevent erosion. Annual grasses grow very quickly so
annual grasses fix into soil and prevent eroding. Also, cover crops can slow raindrops before hit
the ground.
Second, he describes about controlled prairie fires helps restore native plants. When fire burn
dead plants and invasive plants, its changes to darkened soil and the darkened earth absorbs
amount of sunlight. This ways can plants to grow more quickly.
