I Octo Goals

i Critical Skills: Mathematics improves critical thinking by fostering

logical reasoning, problem-solving, and analytical skills. It encourages
structured approaches, precise arguments, and creative thinking.
Proficiency in math equips individuals with essential mental tools for
effective decision-making and complex problem-solving across diverse
domains.

ii Scientific Reasoning: Mathematics enhances scientific reasoning by

providing a systematic framework for modeling, analyzing, and
interpreting data. It enables precise measurement, statistical analysis, and
quantitative predictions, making scientific research more rigorous and
accurate. Math also aids in understanding complex relationships and
patterns in the natural world.

II Plan of Action

i House Competions: Arranging math-related quizzes and scavenger hunts.

These would involve participants solving mathematical puzzles or
problems to find clues or hidden items. They promote teamwork, critical
thinking, and mathematical skills while engaging participants in an
exciting and interactive way. Similar competitions can be arranged in
collaboration with the school’s science society if the schools conducts a
science event.

ii International Competions: Club members can take part in international

competions like the International Kangaroo Mathematics Contest (IKMC)
and International Youth Math Challenge (IYMC).

III Potential Leaders

Currently the society has no members. I will refer them once the society gets
functional.
