Deep Learning Based Seismic Impedance Inversion Optimization

to Recover the High-Frequency from a Low-Frequency Seismic

Trace

Objectives:
1. The research aims to design and develop a deep learning model, such as a convolutional

neural network (CNN) or a U-Net architecture, capable of learning complex relationships

between low-frequency seismic data and high-frequency seismic impedance information.

2. The objective is to optimize the inversion process using deep learning techniques. This

may involve developing appropriate loss functions and regularization techniques that

encourage the recovery of high-frequency details from the low-frequency seismic trace

3. The objective is to apply the optimized deep learning model to real seismic data.

4. The objective is to analyze and interpret the inverted high-frequency seismic impedance

models. This can involve comparing the recovered details with well logs

5. Once the deep learning model has successfully recovered the high-frequency information

from the low-frequency seismic traces, this objective focuses on utilizing the converted

high-frequency seismic data to predict potential locations for new wells.

Work so far:
1. Calculation the velocity model of the well
2. Calculation of reflection co-efficients
3. Selecting wavelet
4. Convolution of wavelet and reflection co-efficients
5. Generate the synthetic data using welllog
6. Comparison of the synthetic seismogram and the original seismic record
