NOTE TO MULTI CORE PROCESSOR USERS - There is a problem with running multiple instances of
GuitsynSE on multiple CPU machines, when using a host that supports more than one processor. This will
be fixed with SynthEdit v1.1, I will then be able to fix this bug.
There is a work-around for now - Copy and paste the .dll file and rename (example) GuitsynSE.dll
copy\paste and rename GuitsynSE2.dll, GuitsynSE3.dll ect... You may make as many copies as you need
instances just give different names to all of them and load them separate. Sorry about the bug will fix as
soon as SE v1.1 is released.

Setup - Hook up your guitar to your soundcard with a line level matching device (DI box, mic preamp).
For low latencies a fast ASIO soundcard and VST host are required. The level you send to GuitsynSE is
very important to the tracking and should be as close as possible to 0db input without clipping the inputs
analog to digital converter of your soundcard. If using something other than a guitar to trigger GuitsynSE
try to obtain the same level for trigger. The plugins input is stereo but only the left input is tracked. The
right input goes to the AUX controls of the synth.

GUITAR PLAYERS BE SURE TO USE YOUR - NECK PICKUP - FOR BETTER TRACKING

Control Section

The most important setting you make in GuitsynSE. Sets how your instrument will make the synth respond,
again for guitar use your neck pickup. Designed to be very easy to setup, two controls "Threshold and
Velocity" set the synths tracking. Other controls are provided for MIDI output, auto tune (step), auxiliary
input, hold and velocity curve. This all was designed for a guitar if you use any other instrument let me
know how it does, what instrument you use? Maybe I can adjust to suit what you play?

 MIDI - Sets the pitch of the MIDI output -3 / +2 octaves.

 Thresh - The most important control of the tracking. Sets the threshold at where the gate will
trigger. For a more sustained gate set the threshold low, for a faster response set the threshold
higher. Higher threshold settings will also provide a tighter gate in its closing.

 Velocity - Used to match the velocity tracking to your input level. Provides a plus and minus 12db
range.

NOTE - The velocity range is 0-10 displayed below the velocity control, set so 10 is reached with your
loudest playing.

 Hold - Holds the playing note infinitely using CC#64 MIDI sustain pedal. Placed on the UI for a
visual and for hosts that need the control visible for MIDI learn mapping.

 Step - Tries to provide an exact pitch for each note. NOTE - You must be close to standard tuning
for this to work well, Very useful when using the MIDI output to trigger a VSTi with the internal
synth. This setting will make the two synths pitch match.

 Curve - Sets the curve velocity tracking will follow. Can make the feel of playing GuitsynSE
much more natural when set to the designed patch, by changing the soft to hard playing curve.

 Aux - Adjusts the level of the right VST input which can then be sent through the synth or the FX
rack.
NOTE - Provides MIDI output along with the internal synth so you can also use other VSTi’s at the same
time as the internal synth, if your host supports audio and MIDI transfer. The MIDI out has a fixed latency
setting from about 28ms high note, 55ms low note.

Tempo Source and Bar Dividers

All modulated \ time effects and the synths modulation can have its speed \ rate set in three different ways.

 Manual - When set to manual all FX and Modulation gets its speed by its own “Rate” or “Delay”
knob setting.

 Host - When set to host all FX and Modulation gets its speed from the host. Each can then have
different dividers of the bar using the drop down lists. NOTE - when set to HOST the speed
control on the UI will not work.

 Tap - When set to Tap all FX and Modulation gets its speed by the speed that you click on the
“Tap“ button.. Each can then have different dividers of the bar using the drop down lists. NOTE -
when set to TAP the speed control on the UI will not work.

 Tempo - Shows the current tempo when set to host or tap.

Continuous Controller Map \ CC#’s

64 - Hold Pedal

All other controls must be mapped through your host.

Sorry for no manual to the synth itself, I just don't have the time.
