Investigation using a data logger or computer modelling on the turbidity

change in microbial growth in different sugars.
Independent variable Dependent variable Control variable
 Types of sugar  Change in microbial growth  Amount of each sugar
 Size of conical flask  Amount of yeast at the
beginning
 Using sugar as a control for
light transmission
 Temperature
 Time

Procedures:
1) Using different syringes to prepare the sugar and yeast solution into different
volume of conical flask, 50ml, 100ml, and 200ml.
2) Use another syringe to transfer 10cm³ of yeast into each conical flask.
3) Use dropping pipette, transfer the mixture into a cuvette and record the percentage
of transmission at the beginning. Do the same for the other conical flasks.
4) Record the percentage transmission every 5 minutes until 30 to 40 minutes.
5) Repeat the experiment for all the sugars again.
6) Note down all the results.
7) Plot a curve of percentage transmission against time for each sugar in different
conical flasks.
