PROFILE I belong to 1987 batch of Indian Administrative Service ,

Maharashtra cadre. In my thirty-three years’ career ,I have

Mainly worked for eleven years in urban development ,

Four years in environment and four years in finance in

Addition to other sectors at State as well as Central

Government levels . Before joining my present assignment

I was working as principal secretary in Finance Department

Of Government of Maharashtra dealing with State Budget

And expenditure management . I havew also worked

As joint secretary (Finance), Department of Atomic Energy

Government of India . However it is my long tenures in

Urban development sector as joint municipal

Commissioner and additional municipal commissioner

 In Mumbai and municipal commissioner of Thane city

Which has shaped my career . Alongside this , my

Experience in finance ans Environment helps me in

Handling urban issues with more effectiveness and

efficiency. Presently as head of MMRDA I am handling

mega infrastructural projects , which include 340 kms of

Metro and the longest sea bridge MTHL in Mumbai

Metropolitan region , costing USD 21.42 billion. My

Responsibilities include mobilizing financial resources

Through bilateral and multilateral funding agencies ,

Tender management and timely implementation of these

Projects. I havew been able to raise financial resources of

USD 4285 million from agencies like ADB,JICA,KFW,AIIB

And NDB. Further negotiations are also on with ADB, NDB,

AIIB and AFD. In MMRDA ,I have also created a new

Organization namely Maha Mumbai Metro Operation

Corporation limited , for operation and maintenance of the

Metro services , which are being constructed now . My

Strength lies in public policy analyzing and in designing and

Executing infrastructural projects.
