 How does climate change affect biodiversity? Why is ocean acidification

considered to be a very serious problem? If acidity levels in the ocean rise
sharply during your lifetime, how might this affect you? Can you think of ways in
which you might be contributing to this problem? What could you do to reduce
your impact?
Climate change causes species extinction risk because there are certain climates
and temperatures for their ecosystems and living habitats. Ocean acidification is
considered a severe problem because it eats away the minerals used by the
shellfish and produces marine life skeletons. Most importantly, it harms organisms in
the food chain that feed on sensitive organisms. It can affect me because of the
possibilities of how degradations of ecosystems affect marine life. It will cause a
species of marine life in danger, leading to lesser aquatic livable marine life areas in
the ocean. Protecting our resources, especially our nature, will be helpful to lessen
the carbon gas that leads to ocean acidity.
 How might the distribution of the world’s forests, grasslands, and deserts differ if
the prevailing winds did not exist?
If the prevailing wind did not exist, there would be random places with one biome.
Prevailing winds are the direction the wind blows most often in a location (Trees-
Energy-Conservation, 2019). The winds are the one that carries temperature to
certain areas. Therefore, winds influence the temperature in the world’s forests,
grasslands, and deserts.
 Which biomes are best suited for (a) raising crops and (b) grazing livestock? Use
the three scientific principles of sustainability to come up with three guidelines for
growing crops and grazing livestock more sustainably in these biomes.
The best biomes for raising crop is temperate grasslands. According to UCMP.
(n.d.), Temperate grasslands are characterized as having grasses as the dominant
vegetation. It is best suited for raising crops and grazing livestock because of its
nutrients and mild temperature. Therefore, temperate grasslands should be
protected because of their solar energy and nutrient cycling.
 Describe the roles of temperature and precipitation in determining what parts of
the Earth's land are covered with (a) desert, (b) arctic tundra, (c) temperate
grassland, (d) tropical rainforest, and (e) temperate deciduous forest.
There are parts of the Earth with different roles of temperature and precipitation. In
the Desert, there is a high temperature which is hot and low precipitation, which is hot.
Arctic Tundra has a high temperature, which is cold, with little precipitation. According to
UCMP. (n.d.), Tundra is called the coldest biome. Temperate grasslands are a
temperature that is in between all biomes; it is not that cold, and it is not that hot. This
biome is best for vegetation. Lastly, the Temperate deciduous forest is a wet biome with
a mild temperature. According to nhpbs.org, It is also called the constantly changing
biome.
