GREEN ANACONDAS
Good morning, everyone!
My name is Maham Malik and
I am from class 4E. Today I
will be writing about my
favorite animal, Green
Anaconda. I like Green
Anacondas because they are
very dangerous and are a very
big mystery for today’s
scientists. I like beast animals.
These types of anacondas are olive green with dark oval spots along their
spines and similar spots with yellow centers along their sides. The scales on
their belly are yellow and black. They also have dark stripes from their eyes
angling toward their jaws.
Green anacondas are found in large parts of South America as well as a few
Caribbean Islands. These animals are typically found near water and in wet,
tropical habitats. They are found below 2,800 feet elevation and are not found
living where temperatures stay cold for extended periods.
Green anacondas feed on a wide variety of animals including fish, reptiles
(including caiman), amphibians, tapirs, deer, dogs, capybaras, sheep, and any
other animals that come down to drink from the water where the anaconda
resides.
Fun Facts:
1. Its scientific name, Eunectes murinus, means "good swimmer" in Latin.
2. Anacondas do not lay eggs but give birth to live young.
3. While the snake can get its speed up to 8 km/h on land, it is twice as fast (16
km/h) under water.
4. Anacondas have teeth, but they are not venomous snakes.
5. Snakes are dichromatic meaning they can see blue and green colors, only.
6. The young (called neonates) can care for themselves soon after birth.

I hope after reading these facts and information about green anacondas, you will
begin to like them. Thank you so much if you liked my speech about green
anacondas. Until next time, take care and bye!
