: Abstract

This research aims to reveal the role of social support in emotional regulation and
approving life quality of an Alzheimer patient's companion. It also seeks to identify the
differences between the companions of Alzheimer patients: in their emotional regulation
strategies and the intensity of their appreciation of life quality depending on the level of social
support, and the gender difference between the companions in social support and their
emotional regulation strategies, life quality. Appreciation of social support and its resources,
and their emotional regulation strategies in addition to the intensity of their appreciation of
life quality depending on the variable of companionship duration.

The researcher adopted the descriptive approach, the research sample consisted of (70)
companions. The tools used: the social support scale, the cognitive emotional regulation scale
and the diagnostic scale for life quality.
