Rights for LGBTQ+

This project’s goal is to bring more awareness to the discrimination done against the
LGBTQ+ community. It is widely known that people of the LGBTQ community have
faced a lot of hate over the years. It has always been frowned upon by others,
however there has been less cases of discrimination as of recent. People are getting
accepted more and more in society, however not everyone is open to it. Despite that,
some countries are starting to legalize and even protect LGBTQ.

As stated before, people in the LGBTQ community are still getting discriminated
against. They are even being harassed in some schools. Students are physically
and/or sexually assaulted almost daily just because of their gender identity and/or
sexual orientation. There was once an incident where a lesbian got raped by her
pastor just because he thought that it was “sinful”. That is just one of many examples
of people in the LGBTQ community being discriminated against.

For the outcome of this project, we have decided to compile some photos of people
standing up for the LGBTQ+ community, as well as people being against it. People
of many ages can be seen in both categories of photos. Through these pictures, we
would like to bring awareness on the fact that the fight for LGBTQ rights is not over
yet, and that we should all stand up for each other in order to have a more
developed society.
