Honduras My Country

OH poor little Honduras

A Mother to many of the Mayan

Every sight I see in the morning comes with a breath of pollen

For a country that had once fallen

And now already risen.

Evening weaves a beautiful silence.

Along the borders of the Honduras houses

When I think of my country, I see the Green, emerald avocados

Planted together with the mangoes

A week of free summer swimming with the canoes

Dancing all night long with a fun sound of great echoes.

Dancing outside my window, followed by laughter with the Girafuna tribe.

A tribe that allows no bribe

Eating coconuts, tamales and drinking coconut milk featured in some savory dishes

I take off and drift away on the valleys with wishes

Visiting the national symbol of our wildlife, The Yucatan white-tailed deer

A great treasure not only in me but this native land and the Maya.

A country known for its minerals

A country that tastes like its own meals

Comayaguela and Tegucigalpa the capital duals

A republican known for bananas

Our diversity is our pride

Through togetherness we make a huge stride

I pledge commitment to you my country

To defend you from all adversary

With all my powers and might

I'll aid steer you to what's right

With hope for the future

'Cause the the youth I will nurture
