JBL Partybox 1000 V63 Update Instructions

Improvements in this update:
• Improved Smart DJ performance
• Improved microphone performance for karaoke
• Minor bug fixes

Important note:
This update is only for the Partybox 1000. Do not use with any other models or products.

First, check to see what version is currently installed:

1. Power on the Partybox 1000.
2. Press and hold the Volume– and Bass Boost buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds.
3. The Partybox will speak a set of numbers. The first two numbers indicate the version. For example,
if it says “5730171501”, then version 57 is currently installed.
4. If the version is 63 or greater, your Partybox already has the latest software. Do not proceed.
5. If the version is less than 63, proceed with this update.

Copy the update files to a USB flash drive:

• You will need a USB flash drive with at least 50MB available space.
• Unzip the files contained in Firmware Update – PartyBox 1000 – V63 – September 2019.zip onto the root
directory of the flash drive.
• IMPORTANT: the files must be in the root directory (top level) of the flash drive!
• We recommend that there are no other files in the root directory.

The update takes about 12 minutes and must not be interrupted.

Please allow sufficient time.
1. Power off the Partybox.
2. Insert the flash drive with the update files into the USB port on the back of the Partybox.
3. Power on the Partybox and give it a few seconds to fully power up.
4. Press and hold the Volume+ and Bluetooth buttons simultaneously until all the LEDs go off except the
Power LED (approximately 11 seconds).
5. The update is now in progress and will take about 12 minutes.
6. Do not power off the unit or press any buttons until the update is complete.
7. During the update, there will be a brief moment when the Power LED will go off and the unit appears
to be off. This is a normal part of the update process.
8. When finished, the Partybox will reboot and all the LEDs on the top and front will turn on.
9. If you step away from the Partybox during the update and are unsure if it is still in process, you can
look at the DJ Pad and Source LEDs. If they are off, the update is still in progress. If they are on,
the update is complete.
10. Congratulations! Your Partybox is now updated.
