B: Well, I’m kind of frustrated.
A: Oh, no! What happened? Why are you
frustrated?
B: I just had a fight with my brother, but it’s OK.
I’ll be all right.
A: Wow! *I’m sorry. Is he mad at you?
B: Yeah, it’s because I broke his phone.

* People often say “I’m sorry” in American


culture to show compassion and empathy.
When you say “I’m sorry,” it does not always
mean that you did something wrong.
