What is “Adjective” ?
Adjective / kata sifat is used to :
• To describe feelings or qualities / untuk mendeskripsikan perasaan atau sifat
• To give nationality or origin / untuk menunjukkan kebangsaan atau asal usul
• To tell more about a thing’s charasteristic/ untuk menjelaskan lebih lanjut karakteristik suatu benda
• To tell us about age / untuk memberi tahu tentang usia
• To Tell us about size and measurement / Memberi tahu tentang ukuran dan pengukuran
• To tell us about colour/ Memberi tahu tentang warna
• To tell us what something made of / Memberi tahu tentang bahan pembuat suatu benda
•To tell us about shape / Memberi tahu tentang bentuk
• To express judgement or value / Menyatakan pendapat atau penilaian

Comparative & Superlative
Comparative -> membandingkan perbedaan antara dua benda
Contoh : My house is larger than hers.
: This box is smaller than the one I lost.

Superlative -> tingkatan teratas atau terbawah untuk mendeskripsikan


suatu benda
Contoh : My house is the largest one in our neighborhood.
: This is the smallest box I've ever seen.
Adjectives comparing equal quantities
Gunakan “as many” atau “as few” untuk kata benda yang dapat
dihitung

Contoh :
-They have as many children as we do.
-We have as many customers as they do.
-Tom has as few books as Jane
Gunakan “as much” atau “as little” untuk kata benda yang tidak
dapat dihitung

Contoh :
-John eats as much food as Peter.
-Jim has as little patience as Sam.
-You've heard as much news as I have.
Adjectives comparing unequal quantities
Gunakan “more” atau “fewer” untuk kata benda yang dapat dihitung
Contoh :
-There are fewer houses in his village than in mine.
-You know more people than I do.
-I have visited the States more times than he has.
Gunakan “more” atau “less” untuk kata benda yang tidak dapat dihitung
Contoh :
-Jim has less patience than Sam.
-You've heard more news than I have.
-He's had more success than his brother has.
-They've got less water than we have.
