MINI BOBBLE STITCH

In this pattern, you will be making mini bobble stitch to create tentacles of the babies. You will
basically work 2 half completed double crochet stitches into the same stitch. See how I make my
mini bobble stitches in the video tutorial for the babies here:

yo, insert hook into the same st where you worked a sl st, *yo, pull through the st, yo, pull through 2
loops* (you have 2 loops on your hook), yo, insert hook into the same st, repeat everything between
the *-*. You will have 3 loops on your hook. yo and pull through all 3 loops.
MAGIC RING
A magic ring is a way to begin crocheting in round by crocheting the first round into an adjustable loop

Alternatively, you can chain 2, crochet n single crochet stitches into the second chain from hook.
Let’s start with the mama!

Tentacles (x8)
1. For Sweet Snuggles yarn only: ch 2, 6 sc into the 2nd ch from the hook (6)
1. For the other yarns: mr of 6 sc (6)
2. inc x6 (12)
3-5. sc around (3 rounds total) (12)
6. (dec, sc 2) x3 (9)
Stuff the tentacle. Flatten the opening and crochet both sides together
making 4 sc (see ‘Tips’’ section above).
For the first 7 tentacles only, chain 1 and cut the yarn leaving a short tail.
For the 8th tentacle, do not chain and do not cut the yarn. Continue to
‘’head’’ part below.
Head
You will now join all tentacles together.
Still with your hook on the last tentacle and using only the FRONT loops…
1. Images 1-6. Join a tentacle by crocheting 4 sc into the FLO *place the stitch marker into the first sc*.
When you reach the end of a tentacle, join another one. Repeat with each tentacle. When you reach
the 8th tentacle, join it with 4 sc in the FLO (like you did for all the other tentacles). (32)
You do not need to hide the yarn tails from each tentacle, they will be hidden inside the head.

Insert the eyes between rounds 7-8 about 7 sts apart.
Optional:
• Embroider* the details of the eyes with white yarn. Images 9-12.
• Embroider* the cheeks between rounds 6-7 with pink yarn. Images 13-16 *I embroidered the
cheeks 1 round too low on the images, but still looks cute!
• Embroider* the mouth on round 6 with black yarn. Images 17-20.
*For bigger sizes, double the yarn strand.

Fasten off, and leave a long yarn tail. Close the opening (see ‘’Tips’’ section). Bring the yarn tail inside
the head. Images 21-22.

Inner Part
Make sure that you leave the starting yarn tail long enough so you can tie a

Make an invisible fasten off (see ‘’Tips’’ section).
Flip the piece so we see the wrong side of the stitches. Image 23.
Belly
Now using the remaining back loops of the tentacles, join yarn into one stitch at the back…
1. Images 24-26. ch 1 (do not count as a st), sc in the same st, sc around using the BLO (32)

You will now join the inner part.
Images 28-29. Find the yarn tail at the top of the inner part and inside the head and tie 3 knots with
them. Leave the space of 1 finger between the pieces. Push the inner part inside the head.
Images 30-31. When making round 3, stuff the head every 5 stitches. Take your time to do it, you want
the head to be as smooth as possible. You will notice that the inner part will be pushed inward.
3. Sl st around inserting the hook through both loops of the belly and FLO of the inner part. (24)
Image 32. Fasten off, and leave a short yarn tail. Hide the yarn tail.

Tentacles
Image 36. Hold the head up and join yarn into the first front loop of round 6 (where the st marker is).
1. Images 37-39. ch 1 (does not count as a st), *mbo into the same st, sl st into the next 2 front loops*
repeat everything between *-* around. (total of 8 mbo)
Cut a short yarn tail, make a knot with the yarn tails and hide them inside the head.
