Introduction

Greek yoghurt is also known as yoghurt cheese or labneh . It is very thick in


its consistency and every 100 grams of Greek yoghurt contains only about
59 calories .
Greek yoghurt is a thicker and creamier version of the regular yoghurt which
is not as thick as the Greek yoghurt . Greek yoghurt can be eaten just like
that as a snack and it can even be used to make some amazing recipes .
There are many benefits of Greek yoghurt such as it has twice the proteins
that a regular yoghurt has . Greek yoghurt is known to consist of very less
sodium which is extraordinary beneficial to our health .
Greek yoghurt contains very less carbohydrates and it is easy to digest so it
is very beneficial for those who have digestion problems . Due to its
consistency, Greek yoghurt can be used for baking as well .
Greek yoghurt has many benefits and it is great for our immune system, so it
is recommended for those people who have weak digestive systems and
weak immune systems .
Recipe 01 : Cucumber Sauce

Description : The perfect cucumber sauce which is not only refreshing in


the hot summers but also mouthwatering .
Preparation time : 15 minutes
Serves 22
Ingredients :
Cucumber - 1
Greek yogurt - 1 ½ cups
Garlic cloves - 2
Sour cream - ½ cup
Mayonnaise - ¼ cup
Salt - a pinch
Pepper - a pinch
Directions :
Blend the cucumber until it turns completely liquid .
Strain it properly .
Now mix the blended cucumber with the Greek yogurt, garlic, sour
cream, mayonnaise, salt and pepper .
Your cucumber sauce is now ready .
Recipe 02 : Frozen Greek Yoghurt

Description : Cold, smooth and refreshing, this frozen Greek yoghurt recipe
is a must try and you will fall in love with it .
Preparation time : 5 minutes
Serves 7
Ingredients :
Greek yoghurt - 3 cups
Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Honey - 5 tablespoons
Chopped mint leaves - 10
Directions :
Take a bowl, and mix in the Greek yoghurt, lemon juice, honey and
the chopped mint leaves .
Cover the bowl and refrigerate it for 1 or 2 hours .
Serve cold !
Recipe 03 : Purple Passion Smoothie

Description : This smoothie is made with fruits and vegetables and tastes
really good . Spinach provides iron while the strawberries and blueberries
acts as excellent antioxidants . Strawberries are full of vitamin C and
increase the rate of metabolism in the body .
Ingredients :
Strawberries - ½ cup
Blueberries - ¼ cup
Spinach - 1 cup
Greek yoghurt - ¼ cup
Water - 1 cup
Directions :
Cut the strawberries .
Cut the blueberries .
Cut and chop the spinach .
Take your Vitamix, add in the cut strawberries, blueberries, spinach,
Greek yoghurt and the water and blend in to mix all the ingredients .
Once mixed pour into glasses and serve !
Recipe 04 : Chia Seed Pina Colada

Description : This chia seed pina colada tastes amazing and the chia seeds
are the most nutritious foods in the whole world . They speed up the
metabolism process and help in the reduction of weight . Make sure to soak
the chia seeds overnight .
Preparation time : 5 minutes .
Serves2 .
Ingredients :
Chia seeds - 1 tablespoon
Coconut milk - 1 cup
Pineapple chunks - 1 cup
Greek yoghurt - ½ cup
Flaked coconut - 1 teaspoon
Coconut oil - 1 teaspoon
Lemon wedge - half
Directions :
Soak the chia seeds in milk overnight .
Cut the pineapple into chunks .
Take a blender, and add in the coconut milk, pineapple chunks, Greek
yoghurt, flaked coconut and the coconut oil .
Blend together all the ingredients until properly mixed .
Top with chia seeds and garnish with the lime wedge .
Recipe 05 : Pineapple Turmeric Smoothie

Description : Turmeric has great health benefits in the sense that it prevents
and helps fighting cancer, it reduces the risk of depression and heart
diseases . This smoothie is a great healthy drink .
Preparation time : 10 minutes .
Serves3 .
Ingredients :
Pineapple cubes - 2 cups
Banana - 1
Greek yoghurt - 6 ounces
Turmeric powder - ½ teaspoon
Ginger powder - ½ teaspoon
Pineapple juice - 1 cup
Directions :
Cut the pineapple into cubes .
Cut the banana into round shapes .
Take a blender and add in the pineapple cubes, chopped banana, Greek
yoghurt, turmeric powder, ginger powder and the orange juice .
Blend together all the ingredients and pour into glasses .
If the smoothie is too thick, you can add in more pineapple juice to
make the right consistency .
Recipe 06 : Pineapple and Mango Smoothie

Description : In this smoothie, pineapple is added which has great


nutritional value . Pineapples are great for the immune system of a human
and they are a great citrus fruit . The combination of mango, Greek yoghurt
and pineapples makes this smoothie very delicious .
Preparation time : 5 minutes .
Serves2 .
Ingredients :
Ripe mango - 1
Pineapple slice - 1
Greek yoghurt - 250 grams
Lemon juice - 1
Ice cubes - 8
Directions :
Take a ripe mango and cut into cubes .
Cut pineapple into slice .
Whisk in the Greek yoghurt .
In a blender, add in the mango cubes, pineapple slices, yoghurt, lemon
juice and the ice cubes and blend until mixed properly .
Serve !
Recipe 07 : Potato, Mushroom, And Caramelized
Onion Dumplings

Description : A wonderful savory potato dumpling with addition of


mushrooms and sweet caramelized onions wrapped up in a soft and chewy
sour cream dough .
Preparation time : 3 hours
Serves 4 or more .
Ingredients :
Greek Yogurt - 2 Cups
Egg - 1 large or 2 small
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Flour - 2 ¼ cups
Onions - 2 chopped
White Mushroom - 1 pound
Mashed potatoes - ¾ pound
Unsalted butter - 4 – 6 tablespoons
Directions :
Beat the yogurt, egg and salt together with an electric beater on low
speed
Slowly add flour while beating, until smooth .
Knead the dough until it is soft .
Remove the dough from bowl on a well - floured surface, add flour
into dough until smooth and workable .
Wrap the dough in plastic for two hours and refrigerate .
Chop onions and caramelize them in butter until golden brown .
In the same pan, add another 2 tablespoons of butter and mushrooms
with salt and pepper for 5 minutes or until all water evaporates .
Boil and mash potatoes with 2 tablespoons of butter for extra
richness .
Take the dough out of fridge, gently roll out the dough to a thickness
of about 1 / 8 inch .
Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each dough circle .
Now place the other dough circle on the filling and press the sides
carefully with fingers to enclose your pierogi properly .
Place your formed pierogi on a floured surface .
To fry the pierogi, add a little olive oil or butter to a pan and fry for a
minute on each side .
Serve hot with extra yogurt .
Recipe 08 : Quick Frozen Lemon Yoghurt

Description : This frozen lemon yoghurt is the perfect sweet item specially
in summers . The citric taste of the lemon combined with yoghurt and all
together so cold makes it the most favorable item to enjoy .
Preparation time : 10 minutes
Serves2 .
Ingredients :
Heavy cream - ¼ cup
Greek yoghurt - ½ cup
Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Vanilla extract - ¼ teaspoon
Sweetener - 3 tablespoon
Plastic bag - 2 liter sized
Plastic bag - ½ liter sized
Salt - 1 / 3 cup
Towel - 1
Directions :
Take the larger plastic bag and fill it half with ice cubes .
Take the smaller plastic bag and add in the heavy cream, yoghurt,
vanilla extract, lemon juice and the sweetener .
Put the smaller cream mixture bag in the larger bag with ice and close
tightly .
Now add the remaining ice cubes to completely cover the smaller bag
with ice cubes .
Wrap the bag in towel and shake until the cream mixture turns in to ice
cream .
Once done, open the bags and throw away the salt and ice cubes and
serve the ice cream .
Recipe 09 : Healthy Chocolate Ice Cream

Description : This recipe of chocolate ice cream is super easy and fun to
make with simple ingredients and tastes same like the ice cream you get
from an ice cream parlor . It consists of just 85 grams of calories and has 8
grams of protein in it as well . It is extra smooth, rich and creamy at the
same time .
Preparation time : 20 minutes .
Serves5 .
Ingredients :
Low fat milk - 1 ¼ cups
Greek yoghurt - 1 cup
Unsweetened cocoa powder - ½ cup
Vanilla stevia - 1 ½ teaspoon
Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
Xanthan gum - ½ teaspoon
Salt - ¼ teaspoon
Directions :
One day before you plan to make your ice cream, keep your ice cream
machine in the freezer to cool it up for at least 16 hours to 18 hours .
Take a large bowl and add in the low fat yogurt or the Greek yoghurt
as you prefer, the unsweetened cocoa powder, vanilla liquid stevia,
vanilla extract, xanthan gum and the salt and beat all the ingredients
with an electric mixer until all the ingredients are properly mixed and
incorporated together .
Now take out your ice cream maker from the freezer and pour the
mixture in the ice cream maker and churn for about 30 minutes .
While churning add in your low fat milk and keep churning .
Churn until the consistency you desire is achieved .
Serve immediately as a soft serving or else put in containers and
freeze for a few hours before serving .
You may garnish with either almond flakes, chocolate sprinkles or
chocolate chips .
Serve !
Recipe 10 : Mango Smoothie with Honey

Description : In this smoothie, honey is added . The addition of honey


gives this smoothie a sweet and rich flavor . The ingredients also include
coconut powder and banana both of which have great nutritional benefits .
Ingredients :
No fat milk - 1 cup
Greek yoghurt - 1 cup
Ice cubes - 8 to 10
Banana - 1
Chopped mango - 1
Coconut - 1 / 8th cup
Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
Honey - 1 tablespoon
Chia seeds - a few
Directions :
Cut the banana into pieces .
Cut and chop the mango into cubes .
Cut the coconut .
In a blender, add in the no fat milk, Greek yoghurt, ice cubes, banana
pieces, chopped mango cubes, coconut, vanilla extract and the honey
and blend together until all the ingredients mix .
Pour into glasses and serve by garnishing chia seeds on top .
Recipe 11 : Hazelnut and Mocha Chocolate Ice
Cream

Description : This ice cream is just heavenly . The taste of hazelnuts along
with chocolate and coffee makes it irresistible . This ice cream does not
have a lot of carbs in it and is good for those who wish to eat sweet but at the
same time want to reduce their weight as well .
Preparation time : 10 minutes .
Serves6 .
Ingredients :
Greek yoghurt - 32 ounce
Homemade nutella - 295 grams
Espresso coffee powder - 2 / 3 cup
Vanilla stevia - 1 tablespoon
Salt - 1 / 8 teaspoon
Xanthan gum - 1 teaspoon
Recipe :
Put your ice cream maker in the freezer for 24 hours to cool it .
In a separate, add the yoghurt, nutella, coffee powder, stevia and the
salt and beat properly to mix in all the ingredients .
Beat until the mixture is just thick like a pudding .
Cover and refrigerate your mixture for the night .
The next day take out your ice cream churner and churn the mixture in
it until it forms as an ice cream .
Serve immediately as a soft serve or freeze your ice cream until it is
able to be scooped out .

Recipe 12 : Yoghurt Almond Keto Ice Cream

Description : This ice cream recipe is fat free and consist of low carbs .
The combination of yoghurt and almond gives it a nice taste .
Preparation time : 35 minutes
Serves6 .
Ingredients :
Greek yoghurt - 2 cups
Vanilla soy milk - 1 cup
Honey - 1 / 3 cup
Canola oil - 1 tablespoon
Chopped almonds - ¼ cup
Directions :
In a bowl, add in the Greek yoghurt, vanilla soy milk, honey and the
canola oil .
Mix and put this mixture in an ice cream maker and churn for about 30
minutes .
Freeze this ice cream for at least 6 hours before serving .
Top with chopped almonds and serve .
Recipe 13 : 3 Ingredients Instant Ice Cream

Description : This 3 ingredient ice cream is relatively low in carbs such as


one cup has only 13 grams of carbs in it compared with the other ice cream
cups that have about 44 grams of carbs in them .
Preparation time : 2 minutes
Serves 2
Ingredients :
Frozen berries - 1 cup
Greek yoghurt - 1 cup
Sweetener - 1 teaspoon
Recipe :
Cut and chop the berries .
Take a blender and add in the chopped berries, Greek yoghurt and the
natural sweetener .
Blend until all the ingredients are properly mixed .
Pour into cups and either serve immediately or else put in the freezer
to freeze for at least for 3 hours .
Serve !
Recipe 14 : Grilled Chicken Tandoori Thighs

Description : A spicy and delicious recipe of chicken thighs coated with the
spicy and tangy tandoori masala which gives it a real burst of flavor .
Preparation time : 10 minutes .
Serves8 .
Ingredients :
Greek yoghurt - 12 ounces
Salt - 2 teaspoons
Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
Cloves - ½ teaspoon
Grated ginger - 2 tablespoons
Garlic cloves - 3 tablespoons
Paprika - 4 teaspoons
Ground cumin - 2 teaspoons
Ground cinnamon - 2 teaspoons
Ground coriander - 2 teaspoons
Chicken thighs - 16
Olive oil spray - for spraying
Directions :
Take a resealable plastic bag .
In a bowl, mix the yoghurt, salt, black pepper, ground cloves, grated
ginger, minced garlic cloves, paprika, ground cumin and the ground
coriander .
Pour this in the plastic bag and shake .
Wash your chicken thighs and pat them dry with a towel .
Put these chicken thighs in the plastic bag and toss to coat with the
marinade .
Marinate the chicken thighs in the marinade for a good 8 hours or so .
Heat up your griller on medium high heat and spray it with the olive
oil spray .
Put the marinated chicken thigh pieces on the griller to cook them .
Cook on both sides until the chicken is cooked properly .
Serve !
Recipe 15 : The Super Moist Carrot Cake

Description : This carrot cake tastes even better the next day once the
flavors become friendly with each other . It becomes moister as well .
Preparation time : 30 minutes .
Makes 10 slices .
Ingredients :
Brown sugar - 1 cup
Oil - ¾ cup
Greek yoghurt - ¼ cup
Eggs - 3
Vanilla extract - 2 teaspoon
Flour - 2 cups
Baking soda - 1 teaspoon
Cinnamon - 2 teaspoons
Ground nutmeg - ¼ teaspoon
Salt - ½ teaspoon
Grated carrots - 2 cups
Pecans - 3 / 4 cup
Cream cheese - 8 ounces
Butter - ½ cup
Confectioner ’ s sugar - 2 cups
Cream - 2 tablespoons
Vanilla extract - 2 teaspoons
Salt - 1 / 8 teaspoon
Directions :
Preheat your oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit .
In a bowl, add the brown sugar and the oil and beat .
Beat the yoghurt and the eggs one by one . Add in the vanilla extract .
Now add in the dry ingredients, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg
and the salt .
Fold in the pecans and the grated carrots .
Pour the batter into a prepared pan and put to bake until the cake is
baked to perfection .
For the frosting, take a bowl and add the cream cheese, butter,
confectioner ’ s sugar, cream, salt and the vanilla extract and beat until
thick .
Frost the cake once it ’ s cooled .
Recipe 16 : Carrot Cake Granola

Description : This is veggie infused desert with raisins and a cream cheese
frosting .
Preparation time : 1 hour .
Makes 4 cups .
Ingredients :
Butter - 4 tablespoons
Brown sugar - 3 tablespoons
Maple syrup - 3 tablespoons
Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
Ground cinnamon - ½ teaspoon
Salt - ½ teaspoon
Oats - 1 ¾ cups
Carrots - 2 cups
Walnuts - 1 cup
Greek yoghurt covered raisins - ½ cup
Dried pineapple - 1 / 3 cup
Recipe :
Preheat your oven at 325 degrees Fahrenheit .
Beat the butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon
and salt .
Now fold in the oats, walnuts and the grated carrots .
Pour this batter onto a baking sheet and put in the oven .
Bake till 30 minutes until browned .
After cooling it, add the raisins and the dried pineapple .
Serve !
Recipe 17 : Pineapple Carrot Cake Pie

Description : This pineapple carrot cake pie has a crumbly base at the
bottom . Topped with cream cheese and pineapple slices it surely tastes
divine .
Preparation time : 4 hours .
Serves8 .
Ingredients :
Flour - 1 1 / 3 cups
Sugar - 1 / 3 cup
Sliced almonds - 1 / 3 cup
Grated carrots - 3
Butter - 1 stick
Molasses - 1 tablespoon
Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
All spice - ½ teaspoon
Salt - ½ teaspoon
Crushed pineapple - 1 can
Cream cheese - 8 oz
Greek yoghurt - ½ cup
Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
Cinnamon - ¼ teaspoon
All spice - ¼ teaspoon
Egg - 1
Flour - 1 tablespoon
Almonds for topping
Directions :
Make the crust first by pulsing the flour, sugar and almonds .
Add the grated carrots, butter, molasses, cinnamon, all spice powder
and the salt .
Pulse until it turns to be crumbly .
Press it into a pan and put black beans on top of a parchment paper
and put on the crust .
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 20 minutes .
For the filling, mix the pineapples, cream cheese, Greek yoghurt,
vanilla extract, cinnamon, all spice, egg and the flour .
Pour the filling on top of the cooled crust and bake again for 20
minutes until the corners are set and the center is jiggly .
Garnish with sliced almonds and serve !
Recipe 18 : Spinach Pancakes

Description : This is a Persian recipe of pancakes which is known as


isfanakh patera . You can serve it with sour cream or Greek yoghurt .
Preparation time : 20 minutes .
Serves2 .
Ingredients :
Unsalted butter - ¼ cup
Chopped scallions - 4
Chopped parsley - ¼ cup
Fresh spinach - ½ pound
Eggs - 3
Salt - a pinch
Pepper - a pinch
Greek yoghurt - ½ cup
Directions :
Add 2 tablespoons of butter in a frying pan .
Add in the chopped scallions and the chopped parsley to fry .
Now add in the chopped spinach to fry .
In another bowl, add the eggs and beat with an electric mixer .
Add in the spinach mixture to beat .
Season with salt and pepper .
Mix properly .
Melt the remaining butter in the frying pan and add in spoonful ’ s
from the spinach mixture in the frying pan to fry .
Cook on each side for 1 minute or until the egg is set .
Serve with Greek yoghurt or sour cream .
Recipe 19 : Strawberry Waffles

Description : A quick and easy recipe of homemade waffles with


strawberry flavors and fresh strawberries added to it .
Preparation time : 15 minutes .
Serves6 .
Ingredients :
Flour - 2 ½ cups
Baking powder - 4 teaspoons
Salt - ¾ teaspoon
Buttermilk - 2 cups
Greek yoghurt - ½ cup
Melted butter - ½ cup
Eggs - 2
Sugar - 1 ½ tablespoon
Chopped strawberries - ¾ cup
Directions :
Preheat and grease your waffle maker .
Mix together the flour, baking powder and the salt .
Now mix in the buttermilk, Greek yoghurt, melted butter, eggs and the
sugar .
Fold in the chopped strawberries .
Pour some of the batter on to your preheated waffle maker and close
and cook until the waffles have turned golden brown .
Cool and serve !
Recipe 20 : Savory Herb Waffles

Description : These are not sweet waffles but savory with some herbs and
cheese !
Preparation time : 15 minutes .
Serves6 .
Ingredients :
Flour - 2 cups
Baking powder - 2 teaspoons
Baking soda - 1 teaspoon
Garlic salt - 1 teaspoon
Dried parsley - 1 teaspoon
Dried rosemary - ½ teaspoon
Dried tarragon - ¼ teaspoon
Shredded gouda cheese - 1 ½ cups
Buttermilk - 2 cups
Eggs, separated - 3
Greek yoghurt - 2 / 3 cup
Oil - ½ cup
Directions :
Mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, garlic salt, dried
parsley, dried rosemary, dried tarragon and the shredded gouda
cheese .
Now add in the wet ingredients, the buttermilk, egg yolks, Greek
yoghurt and the oil .
Mix well .
In another bowl, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form and fold in
the waffle batter .
Preheat and grease your waffle maker and put in the batter and cook
until your waffle turns golden brown, about 5 to 6 minutes .
Serve !
Recipe 21 : Apple and Cous Cous Desert

Description : Apples are great for our immune system in the sense that they
help the body to fight against various types of cancers .
Preparation time : 15 minutes .
Serves1 .
Ingredients :
Prepared cous cous - 2 tablespoons
Greek yoghurt - 1 tablespoons
Apple sauce - 1 tablespoon
Nutmeg - a pinch
Directions :
In a bowl, combine the cous cous and the apple sauce .
Add in the Greek yoghurt from the top .
For extra taste you can add the nutmeg as per your choice .
Mix and then serve to the baby .
Recipe 22 : Avocado Tropical Treat with Greek
Yoghurt

Description : Avocado is very beneficial to our health . For babies,


especially it is a great fruit as it contains health promoted monounsaturated
fats which can make our babies to be chubby and make them cuter than they
already are .
Preparation time : 20 minutes .
Serves4 .
Ingredients :
Diced avocado - ½
Sliced banana small - ½
Peeled and sliced papaya - ½
Peeled and sliced kiwi - ½
Greek yoghurt - 1 / 4th cup
Maple syrup - one drop
Directions :
In a bowl, add in the diced avocado, sliced banana, sliced papaya and
the sliced kiwi .
