Reflective summary

1. Key things that I learned and takeaways from the experience


While searching for the content and material for the chosen topic “Using X (Twitter) for
promotion” I learned about the importance and relevance of X as a platform to market your
business. X being one of the giant social media platforms has members over 300 million. Having
such a huge audience is an opportunity for emerging businesses like Dots soap and candles to
effectively utilize the platform and promote their business using unique features offered by the
platform such as Tweets, Trends, and effective use of Hashtags. A huge plus for SME’s and
startups is that X requires a little or no budget to promote their businesses and increase
awareness about their brand. I was not familiar with the business aspect of X and after
searching for materials I gathered valuable information regarding business account setup, proper
utilization of account for business purposes, use of Hashtags, and utilizing unique features and
options that the application offers for successful promotion of your business. X is a friendly
platform for young entrepreneurs and local business owners to keep with the trends, be updated
on what’s in, and be updated on what their followers are interested in. Owners can explore the
trending topics and hashtags to explore the things that are in demand and build their marketing
strategies around it.
The most important and attractive aspect that I learned about X is that it provides paid options to
generate promotional campaigns as well as free promotion options both of them are effective
and can go hand in hand. Even if new startups have small budget they can effectively generate
ads on X (Twitter).
X (twitter) has a huge impact on culture, I believe audience of digital world feels that businesses
need to be aligned with the contemporary culture. Keeping this in perspective, X has the majority
of population that ranges in between 18-35, their cumulative makes a huge business marketplace
that feel businesses should strongly align with the culture. I think this provides the opportunity
for local businesses such as Dots soap and candles to make an impact and drive results.
2. What would you do differently, if anything next time around
I think I have covered the most important aspects of promoting business on X in my slides
however I feel I would add specific guidelines for running promotions for different budgets, as
well as further familiarise with the specific guidelines to get more knowledge and educate others.
Lastly, analytics on X play an important role to analyze the outreach and impact of their
business. I would surely add insights on analytics to discuss valuable information on an accounts
performance for new business owners.
