Handling Fibreglass Trim

Any risks to your health when working with fibreglass trim are associated with inhaling the dust when the material is cut/
disturbed such as during the production that takes place on our site. This is limited to the areas of production and would not
affect any loading that takes place outside with good ventilation, and as such is not considered to pose a health risk. However,
we do give recommendations to your safety when handling the finished fibreglass trim.

• As a minimum we recommend handling using nitrile gloves, but due to the sharp edges of the trim we would recommend
using a cut level 5 glove.
• Wear long sleeves and pants to avoid contact with skin.
• Don’t rub your skin or eyes if they feel itchy or irritated, instead wash and rinse thoroughly with soap and cold water. Don’t
use warm water as this will open up the pores of the skin and cause further penetration of the fibres.
• After handling, always wash hands and do so before eating or using the toilet.
• Remove any contaminated clothing.
• If irritation persists, seek medical attention.
