58 Instructions to Authors

The Journal of Intellectual Property Rights is a peerreviewed journal devoted to publishing papers on all aspects of the intellectual property rights. The journal will consider for publication contributed papers, invited papers, technical notes, and book reviews (by invitation of the editor). Preparation and Submission of Manuscript Authors are advised to see the recent issue of the journal (available at http://nopr.niscair.res.in/handle/123456789/45) to get familiar with the format of the paper. Manuscript should be provided in concise form. Pages should be numbered consecutively, and the matter should be arranged in the following order: title, name(s) of the author(s), department(s) and institution(s), abstract, keywords, introduction, premise, discussion, conclusion, acknowledgement, and references. The manuscript in MS word format (single column, continuous) should be submitted through e-mail, as attachment to any of the following email ids: sahnim@niscair.res.in, viji@niscair.res.in, jipr@niscair.res.in and hard copy to the Editor, Journal of Intellectual Property Rights, National Institute of Science Communication And Information Resources (NISCAIR), Dr K S Krishnan Marg, New Delhi 110 012. The illustrations in suitable formats along with captions should be sent in tiff/ jpeg formats separately. The abstract, usually not exceeding 200 words should indicate the scope and method used in the paper, highlighting the principal findings and conclusions. References to the information sources, numbered consecutively, should be placed at the end of the paper as end notes and not as footnotes. In the text, these should be indicated by numbers placed above the line (superscript) and come after the full point. e.g. The realization developing countries.1 In citing references to articles, names and initials for the authors should be followed, in order, by the title of the paper, full title of the periodical (italics), the volume number, issue number within circular brackets, year within circular brackets, and inclusive pages, e. g., Rastogi T, IP audit: Way to a healthy organization, Journal of Intellectual Property Rights, 15(4) (2010) 302-309. References to a book should include names and initials of the authors, the title of the book (italics), name of the publisher and place of publication within circular brackets, edition, year of publication, and page(s), e. g., Sreedharan Sunita K, An Introduction to Intellectual Asset Management (Wolter Kluwer India Pvt Ltd, New Delhi), 2008, p. 214-216.

References to case laws should begin with the name of the case with the plaintiff and defendant names in italics, followed by the citation as in case law reporter, e.g., Vranjilal Manilal & Co v Bansal Tobacco Co (2001) PTC 99 (Del). References to a patent should include names of patentees, title of the patent, country of origin (italics) and patent number, organization to which the patent has been assigned within circular brackets, date of grant or issue of the patent, e. g., Dingle P J G, Dual mode combustion apparatus and method, US Pat No 7,685,990 (to Delphi Technologies Inc, USA), 30 March 2010. Reference to information downloaded from a website should give full address of website without underline, followed by date of download, if data are dynamic, e.g., www.niscair.res.in (24 September 2010). Use of id, ibid, supra note etc., should be avoided; instead appropriate reference should be given. Essentials of Manuscript The manuscript should have a covering letter on official letterhead under the signature of the corresponding author. It is mandatory on the part of the author(s) to furnish the following certificate (as scanned or hard copy) on official letterhead at the time of submission of the manuscript for publication: [This to certify that the reported work in the paper entitled . submitted for publication in the journal . is an original one and has not been submitted for publication elsewhere. I/we further certify that proper citations to the previously reported work have been given and no data/tables/figures have been quoted verbatim from other publications without giving due acknowledgement and without the permission of the author(s). The consent of all the authors of this paper has been obtained for submitting the paper to the journal ..
