Is Malwarebytes planning to post a full offline installer for the latest Malwarebytes
v4.5.29.2681.0.2022 (rel. 17May-2023 at https://downloads.malwarebytes.com

Posted May 21 setup-consumer- 1.0.20051.0.69217.exe installer.

I have automatic product updates disabled in Malwarebytes and normally delay

updating until the latest offline installer is posted. If there are no plans to release
a v4.5.29 offline installer and no one reports any serious bugs with the latest
version in this forum board I'll just go ahead and update from Settings | General |
Check for Updates as I usually do.

It will be updated in due time. This is not an automated process and it

typically should not be used for most customers.

Hello @jrman505 and :

Although the above up-to-date sources are different, at the end of a successful
install they will yield the same installed MB4 product of high integrity.

The offline installer is much larger when compared to the MBSetup.exe file.

The lower CDN is unrelated to Malwarebytes and is an untrusted source that

should normally be avoided for results with the highest integrity.

Are you certain that https://data-cdn.mbamupdates.com/web/mb4-setup-

consumer/offline/MBSetup.exe isn't part of Malwarebytes' authorized CDN
Content Distribution Network)? If I download today from the "official" download
link https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mb4_offline the pop-up in my
Firefox browser shows that the large 306 MB MBSetup.exe file is actually located
on data-cdn.mbamupdates.com as shown below:

I tested today and both links provided by jrman505 are currently downloading a
large 306 MB MBSetup.exe file with a SHA256 hash of
18d99ac8bfbdbb77d62ebf40788bcd55c1f0814251e6b121b8e6426c09b83087.
This might tie in with the problem you raised in your 13Jun-2023 thread What's
the conventional version number of the mb4_offline installer? about how the latest
full offline installer downloaded from the "official" download link at
https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mb4_offline is incorrectly named
MBSetup.exe (the name usually reserved for the small 2.5 MB online stub installer
/ download manager available at https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download)
instead of mb4-setup-consumer-4.5.30.2691.0.20371.0.xxxxx.exe (the name we
would normally expect for the current full 306 MB offline installer released on 05
Jun-2023.

Regardless, I would agree with you that jrman505 should always use the "official"
download link that is
recommended for home consumers who want to download the latest
Malwarebytes v4.5.x offline installer for Win 7 SP1 and higher.

The URLs are related, unless the untrusted source redirects. But why subject
yourself to possible risks when, as you stated, the official high integrity sources
are just as easy to obtain the MB4 installers.

What does Techwibe stand to gain from their investments and presence? Who
is/are the person or individuals of Techwibe? Where is Techwibe located? What is
their reputation? When their URL is visited, and despite their published “Privacy
Policy”, does Techwibe sell/reveal/exploit your privacy data?
