The diagram illustrates how electricity is produced using a conventional source known as geothermal energy.

Overall, geothermal energy plants use heat generated in geothermal zone to produce steam in order to rotate the
turbine, which is connected to a generator produces power.

Initially, Cold water is stored in the reservoir and is pumped down to 4.5 km down the injection well. The geothermal
zone contains of hot rocks beneath the earth’s crust. When cold water passes through this zone it attains a very high
temperature and escapes through the production well. Moreover, this elevation in water temperature is due to the
concept well known as heat transfer. This hot steaming water is pumped up from the production well to the condenser.

The steam from the hot water is used to rotate the turbine and it is connected with the generator in order to electricity
through the steam power. Then, this generated power is distributed for various needs through-out the region.
