Over than 19, 000 tons of waste produced yearly by Malaysians according to National Solid
Waste Management and quarter of it is plastic bag!

Using reusable bags as a substitute for the plastics can be a great solution for everyone to
take part on.

I have done some research regarding the topic that I will talk to you today and will try to
persuade you to bring your own reusable bag every time you buy groceries and shopping.

With alarming number of plastic bags piling everywhere around us, people need to start to use
reusable bags to combat this issue or our future might be polluted.

The biggest problem with plastic bags are they not easy to recycle.

While plastic bags can be turned into new products, the process and equipment cost are very
expensive.

According to a article from The Atlantic, recycling plastic are not economical, as recycled
plastic cost more because of the collecting, sorting, transporting and reprocessing them.

The plastic also needs to be clean which most of the time are not. Instead, the bags are filling
up landfill and flying all around us.

Reusable bags can also be stylist, durable and reliable compared to the easy to torn plastic.

Unlike the flimsy plastic bag you receive from retailers, reusable bags are durable and can
carry more at a time, preventing from ripping and tearing.

And because they are reliable, you can use them for multiple purposes, not only for groceries.

Imagine living in the world that is clean. There will be no microplastic that will harm our health
and other living things. By using reusable bags, it can cause positive changes for our
environments

Single used plastic bags can be an easy solution for day-to-day activities. However, what we
did after the plastic has served it purposed is what more harmful to the environment.

In reality, in the world today, we cannot escape from not using plastic bags, but we can make
the effort to reduce and control our usage.
