1. Name some influential women in various Rizalista groups and explain their
significant roles in their respective organizations.

1. Candida Balantac is the founder of the group Adarnista or the IGLESIANG

PILIPINA. The said group beliefs that Rizal is the God of Filipino People. They also
believe that on one of the caves is Bongabon is the New Jerusalem.

2. Reyna Yolanda Liban Manalo is the leader of one of the many Rizalista groups
called Celyo Rizal Inc. She performed a “ritual for unity” just like priestess under the
night sky in front of a statute of Dr. Jose Rizal.

3. Lady Imelda Cansana-de la Cruz is the president of the Knights of Rizal it

promotes the ideals of Rizal.

4. Epifania Valdejos Castillejos is believed to be the “babaeng Rizal”

5. Maria Bernarda Balitaan is the founder of the biggest Rizalista Group which is the
Suprema Dela Iglesia Ciudad Mistica De Dios, Inc. The leaders of this samahan has
always been with women until this days.

2. In your own point of view, what is your stand about the different Rizalista groups?
Explain.

The Rizalista are a group of people who worship Jose Rizal just like any other
religious group. There are different groups of people that worships Rizal and they
have different views on Jose Rizal’s divinity. Some believe that Rizal is the God of
Filipinos but others believe that he is the one who will continue the unfinished works
of Jesus. Even though they have different view they have only faith in Jose Rizal. It
may seem strange that some people, that in this modern era, there are some people
who still believes that a simple human being such as Jose Rizal can be thought as a
divine being. Many people, of course, believes that this is some kind of joke but
when it comes to religion, no argument is wrong. What we need is to respect one
another about his or her beliefs in order to avoid conflicts specially because, for me, a
debate about religion does not make any sense. Every person have the right to believe
what they think is good.
