QUESTION:

Do you think Billy Weaver is a matured person? Provide TWO evidences from the story.

Answer:

Based on the short story The Landlady by Roald Dahl. As Billy Weaver had arrived at Bath, he was
searching a fairly cheap hotel near his area. “Try The Bell and Dragon,” the porter answered while
pointing down the road. Billy thanked him and picked up his suitcase. In my opinion, I think Billy Weaver
is a matured person.

The evidence from the story to provide that Billy Weaver is a matured person is he was wearing a new
navy-blue overcoat, a new brown trilby hat and a new brown suit. He walked briskly down the street
and he also trying to do everything briskly. Briskness which is one from his common characteristic looks
like successful businessmen.

Apart from that, another evidence from the story that showed Billy Weaver is a matured person. Billy
Weaver thought the landlady was a kind and generous soul. He guessed that the landlady had probably
lost a son in the war, or something like that, and had never gotten over it. Which is cause the landlady
asked him to came into her house when Billy Weaver stepping back and turning away from the window,
and then he pressed the bell button.
