Theme

Present simple, routines and habits.

Final Task

By the creation of an Instagram profile, the students will have to work alone in the confection
of it with a brief description of each image used, and in a group of four they must be able to
explain to their classmates why they’ve chosen the picture and say briefly what it means to
them related to their routines and habits. Allowing them to choose their own groups and the
amount of pictures they would like to include.

The student must create an Instagram profile, which must be completed with their personal
information. Each student must show to her/his/their classmates their profile and must
describe himself or herself orally using the information in their profile. Students should also
write a paragraph describing themselves. Students will have to write personal questions to
ask their classmates.

Objectives

The students must be able to describe themselves using the foreign language orally and in
writing. In addition, the ability to ask personal questions orally and in writing, and the
listening comprehension of them to be able to answer orally in an appropriate way. The aim
is to ensure that students can produce written and oral narratives using the contents, and
that they can put into practice their social skills such as respect for each other’s turn to
speak, work in group, to gain autonomy with the language and to strengthen fellowship.

Theoretical Framework

In the curricular design of English in the 4th year of secondary school. We find "Guidelines
for evaluation" in the section on informal evaluations. We decided to create an evaluation
closure as a "performance evaluation"(performance assessment): This type of assessment
includes tasks that require students to do tasks where they demonstrate what they have
learned. The mere completion of the task implies the approval of the evaluation. In our case,
students will have to create an Instagram profile with their personal information and then the
profiles are exchanged between classmates, students must describe profiles using their
classmates' personal information. In this task, students should use tools, such as: Verb
tenses seen above and phonetics. In relation with the SLA theory, the students must
memorize sentence patterns to communicate and with this task they are going to have
reflected habits of L1 interfered L2 acquisition, also the students are in contact with the
affective filter as they have to talk about things that they are familiar with.

In a task-based language teaching, students solve a task that involves an authentic use of
the language rather than complete questions about grammar or vocabulary only, so
proposing this task is an excellent way of getting them close to the language and helps them
understand the explanation of the grammar part by solving this task given.
