In the name of Allah the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

(Dua)

A very good morning to Mr/Ms Chairperson, the rows of honourable and wise judges, faithful time
keeper(s), respected teachers and last but not least, members of the floor.

Assalamualaikum wbt

Ladies and gentlemen,

This very day; most people

One of the most sensitive word to mention is ‘fat’; especially when it is put in sentences such as “hey,
you gain weight, a bit fat” or “Do I look fat?”. As man, I was advised to carefully answer these kind of
questions; and we could see a lot of products and tips related to this matter.

Islam is a religion solely devoted to Allah SWT that teaches us; it teaches us to prioritize the Afterlife
but does not ask us to abandon this world.

Zuhd is necessary for attaining contentment and inner peace. A heart that is attached to this world is
restless and always wanting more. A heart that prioritizes the Afterlife is content and at peace with
the will of God. This is why Zuhd is a crucial topic to discuss when talking about inner peace.

Moderation means to adopt a middle path between two extremes in all walks of life. Islam stresses
moderation and balance in all aspects of life; in beliefs, worship, conduct, relationships, ideas,
customs, transactions, daily activities and human desires. A study by Kaniz Fatma (2018) in Teachings
of Moderation and Balance in Islam

As Muslims, we are expected to behave with self-discipline and noble conduct in every situation.
Discipline differentiates humans from beasts. It is a sign of Allah’s care when a person tries to change
himself and develop. A discipline behaviour had been shown by every Muslim’s role model in life.
