CERTIFICATES / POSITION CERTIFICATES FOR IIU 12TH CONVOCATION

CRITERIA FOR THE AWARD OF GOLD MEDALS

i. Students scoring highest Cumulative Grade Point Average shall be awarded gold medal
provided they score the following minimum CGPA in the respective degree programme:

Degree Program/ level CGPA


MS/M.Phil/LLM 3.80/4.00
MA/M.Sc/MBA 3.80/4.00
BA(Hons) BS/B.Sc(Hons)LLB(Hons) Shariah & Law/LLB 3.50/4.00

ii. Only those students shall be entitled for the award of gold medal who have not availed
deferment of studies and have no case of indiscipline during studies. Further to this they
have neither failed nor repeated any course and that their degree programme has been
completed in the minimum prescribed degree duration.

iii. Gold medal shall be awarded in each degree programme on the basis of merit to male
and female students separately.

iv. If there is however a tie between/among students in the CGPA obtained by them, award
of a gold medal in any programme shall be determined by highest percentage obtained
by the student.

v. Gold medals shall be awarded to the students who complete their degree in an academic
session which operates between September to August each year.

Criteria for Distinction Certificate:

The graduates who fulfill the prescribed criteria for an award of gold medal (yet not at
No.1) shall be issued a distinction certificate.

Criteria for Position Certificate:

i. Position certificate shall be awarded in each degree programme on the basis of merit to
male and female students separately.
ii. If there is however a tie between/among students in the CGPA obtained by them, award
of a position certificate in any programme shall be determined by highest percentage
obtained by the student.
iii. No position certificate shall be awarded at Ph.D level
