Customizing application menu

Hi all,

I've been trying to customize our environment and remove unlicensed options off our menu and reorder the

ones we have. So far I have been successful in modifying the menu that appears under "All Applications" (see

image). What I'd prefer however, is to have my edited (short) menu appear directly under the "start" menu

with no need for an "all applications" cascade menu.

How is it that items I have hidden (eg HIDE UG_APP_STUDIO) still appear in the initial menu?

My ug_main_edits.men file looks like:-

I'm not sure if you have access to the Start menu here. I am, however, able to interactively reorder

and remove these items and save them when I edit a specific role.

The ug_main_edits.men is a user created file - it could really be called anything_you_like.men. It

needs to be located in a directory called startup which will be a subdirectory of the location pointed

to by either the UGII_SITE_DIR or UGII_USER_DIR env variables. It will automatically get read at

startup.

(Eg at our site UGII_SITE_DIR=L:\NXCustom. (file:L:/NXCustom.) In that directory is another called

"startup" and in that directory is a file called ug_main_edits.men)

We use it (primarily) to add a bunch of custom programs to the menubar.
