A fable is ​a short story, typically with animals as
characters, conveying a moral. The characters in
a fable are usually animals whose words and
actions reflect human behavior.

The moral lesson of this story is all about being
prepared. If we work hard and plan for the future, we
won't find ourselves in the grasshopper's position,
relying on others. However, the ant can also learn
something from the grasshopper. During the summer,
the ant is not happy, as he doesn't give himself a break.

The tortoise and the hare


The hare is very confident of winning, so it stops
during the race and falls asleep. The tortoise continues
to move very slowly but without stopping and finally
it wins the race. The moral lesson of the story is that
you can be more successful by doing things slowly and
steadily than by acting quickly and carelessly.

The moral lesson of the story "The Monkey and


the Turtle" is that greed leads to downfall and
that hard work pays off. In the story, the monkey
is greedy and wants to reap the rewards of the
turtle's hard work without putting in any effort
himself.

The moral of the Lion and the Mouse fable is


that an act of kindness is never wasted. In the
story, the Lion spares the Mouse when he
captures her. The Mouse tells him that, if he
sets her free, she will find a way to repay him.

The moral of the “Fox And The Goat” story is


“Look before you leap. Do not just blindly walk
into anything without thinking”. In this short
story with a moral, the innocent goat jumps into
the well without thinking twice and trusting the
sly fox blindly that the water is sweet in taste.

The moral of the story is – A good deed never goes


unnoticed and comes back to us in one form or
another. The dove's act of kindness returned to him
when the ant saved his life from the hunter, i.e., if
you do good, good will come to you. Similarly, in life,
we should always do good deeds and help people.

The moral of the story is “Never underestimate


anyone, including yourself.” In the given story, the
elephant made fun of the other animals and bullied
them because he underestimated them and thought
that no one could harm him because of his gigantic
size. However, he was proved wrong by a tiny little
ant.

By reading this short story, the moral we learn is that
by thinking and working hard, we may find the
solution to any difficult problem. If we have
willingness and determination, anything can be
achieved. The crow used his patience and intelligence
to put stones into the pitcher so water could get out.

In fact, the fable is one of the oldest and most lasting
methods of both written and oral storytelling. They can be
found in the literature of almost all countries and languages,
and are a fundamental part of the folklore of must cultures. ​
Fables are a good way to convey moral meaning because they
are simple in nature and can be easily be read by anyone.
