Purpose of Ibadah:

1. Reason why we are created.

‫َو َم ا َخ َلْق ُت ٱْلِج َّن َو ٱِإْلنَس ِإاَّل ِلَي ْع ُبُدوِن‬

I did not create jinn and humans except to worship Me. (Al-Dhariyyat;51:56)

2. Gratitude with His blessings.

‫َي ٰٓـَأُّيَه ا ٱَّلِذيَن َء اَم ُنو۟ا ُك ُلو۟ا ِمن َط ِّي َبٰـ ِت َم ا َر َز ْق َن ٰـ ُك ْم َو ٱْشُك ُرو۟ا ِهَّلِل ِإن ُك نُتْم ِإَّياُه َت ْع ُبُدوَن‬
O believers! Eat from the good things We have provided for you. And give thanks to Allah if
you ˹truly˺ worship Him ˹alone˺. (Al-Baqarah;2:172)

3. Achieve peace.

‫ٱَّلِذيَن َء اَم ُنو۟ا َو َت ْط َمِئُّن ُقُلوُبُهم ِبِذ ْك ِر ٱِهَّللۗ َأاَل ِبِذ ْك ِر ٱِهَّلل َت ْط َمِئُّن ٱْلُقُلوُب‬
Those who believe and whose hearts find comfort in the remembrance of Allah. Surely in the
remembrance of Allah do hearts find comfort. (Al-Ra’d;13:28)

4. Seeking Allah’s protection.

‫ٱْت ُل َم ٓا ُأوِحَى ِإَلْي َك ِمَن ٱْلِك َت ٰـ ِب َو َأِقِم ٱلَّص َلٰو َةۖ ِإَّن ٱلَّص َلٰو َة َت ْن َه ٰى َع ِن ٱْلَفْح َش ٓاِء َو ٱْلُمنَك ِر ۗ َو َلِذ ْك ُر ٱِهَّلل َأْك َب ُرۗ َو ٱُهَّلل َي ْع َلُم َم ا َت ْص َن ُعوَن‬
Recite what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer. Indeed, ˹genuine˺
prayer should deter ˹one˺ from indecency and wickedness. The remembrance of Allah is ˹an˺
even greater ˹deterrent˺. And Allah ˹fully˺ knows what you ˹all˺ do. (Al-Ankabut:29:45)
