Instructions for Home Exercise Program

Attached you will find your individualized home program. The exercises and information in the
home program have been chosen specifically for you by your rehabilitation staff member.
Following this program can help your recovery process.

Muscle strength and flexibility are important for maintenance of good posture and prevention of
joint and muscle pain.

General rules of exercise

1. Begin slowly and increase your repetitions gradually.


2. Be consistent and follow your therapist’s directions.
3. Do not hold your breath during any portion of your exercise.
4. You may feel minor muscle soreness and/or fatigue with these exercises.
5. If you have pain, stop doing the exercise.
6. Hold your stretch. Do not bounce.
7. Be patient with yourself. It may take weeks of consistent effort before
you see results.
