INTRODUCTION

The Constitution provides for material equality among all; therefore, it is the
government's responsibility to create conditions capable of making people facing unequal
situations achieve the same goals. To this end, the State positions itself as the promoter of
individual and social rights, and does this through public policies of inclusion of minorities
and of the most vulnerable, whether for financial, economic, and social reasons, or for motor
or emotional limitations. Regardless of the type of vulnerability, everyone has rights, and the
state's duty is to guarantee a dignified living condition for all those who live here. To this end,
the Executive Power is responsible for the formulation of public policies and affirmative
actions. When these cannot meet the demand or when they are being inefficiently employed,
it is up to the judiciary to play the role of trying, through the courts, to enforce the rights of
these minorities.
According to the Ministry of Sports, accessibility means "including the person with
disability in the participation of activities such as the use of products, services and
information.
Adapted sports make a positive contribution to the promotion of quality of life for
people with disabilities. These people have the right to be integrated into society in the areas
of culture, leisure, sports, education, and work. In addition to bringing a benefit to their
mental and physical health, socialization is one of the greatest benefits for these people to
be able to live in the community.
With that, we came with the idea of creating a new sport that would promote
inclusiveness and accessibility to disabled people.

NAME

‘’Wheelchair Paintball Competition / WPC’’

TARGET AUDIENCE

Wheelchair users that love a little emotion and adventure!

HOW WILL IT WORK?

The Wheelchair Paintball Competition was created with the intention of including
people with some physical disability in the lower body. The player will be in a wheelchair
adapted for the match, where he will have equipment with paint balls (not-toxic) that will be
thrown towards the opponent with a rifle attached to the wheelchair. They will have
protection and appropriate clothing so that scores will be counted through the colorful spots
hit by the paint balls of the other players. WPC will be played inside a big arena fully
prepared to analyze all the plays and keep everyone on the track.

REGULATION

We prepared some rules that must be followed throughout the whole competition:
● Modifications on the wheelchairs won’t be permitted. All the wheelchairs used on
WPC are fully manufactured, developed and regulated by the competition staff;

● External help, such as related people suggestions, ambient support or any type of
help noticed on the matches will be noticed as infractions and will result in player
disqualification. The dialogue between team players and the use of the arena’s
surroundings are the only methods allowed.

● Players cannot be taken out from their wheelchairs. All the clashes in the match,
between 2 or more players, must be taken on their respectives wheelchairs. Any
attempt to tear down a player from its wheelchair will be noticed as infractions, also
resulting in player disqualification.

COMPETITION

WPC was created with the intention of becoming a paralympic official sport. But also,
it was meant to be held by any organization capable of providing all the rules and correct
game conditions. With that said, the general conditions on how the competition will happen
are:

● WPC will be held in two phases;

● The first phase, called Challengers Stage, will have 5 teams, each one with 7
players, spread all around the bigger sector of the arena. Each team will start in a
defined area attributed to their colors/names. They’re supposed to fight against each
other in a deathmatch, where only 1 team will remain.

● The second phase, called Champions Stage, will hold the battle between all the
remaining team’s players. It does not matter if they were eliminated in the previous
phase. All of them get back in the game to play. They are also spread all around the
arena, which is now smaller, with absolutely no information about each other. Here,
they’ll fight until only one person is standing in the arena.

● A player gets eliminated as soon as 5 paint shots are registered on their clothes. The
arena should have enough technology to record and visualize all the shots through
the matches.

● The final reward is up to the organization choice.

WELLNESS

As any other sport, WPC provides great game planning and sharp thinking, as well
as logical reasoning and group engagement. It develops mental areas helping in the release
of neurotransmitters related to the reduction of stress hormones and depression/anxiety. It is
like a natural mood lifter for you!
