Paint.NET helps us draw on the computer.

It has Colors Window

This helps you color your work and Tools window to help you draw many
things in different ways.

We can use this program to draw and paint pictures. It makes drawing
and coloring easy and fun.

You can find it by clicking the Start button and then click the
Paint.NET icon.

The Paint.Net window looks like this.

 Colors Window

We can use the “colors” window to choose

the color that we will use in a drawing.

The Colors Window has many colors and

can usually be found at the bottom-left of
the Paint.NET window.

Tools Window

On the left part of the Paint.NET main window, you will find
the different icons. All of these icons are in the Tools
Window. Each icon is called a tool. Some of the tools are
used to draw lines and other shapes. Others are for
coloring or typing.

Creating a File

At the top of Paint.NET main window

is the menu bar. Click on File, and a list

of commands will appear. Click OK.
A blank, white window will appear. This is where you will start drawing.

Saving a File

To save the picture that you made in Paint.NET, click on the word
File on the menu bar. A menu will open.
Click Save As. A dialog box will appear. The dialog box will ask you to
name your drawing. Make sure you choose a name that helps you
remember your drawing.

Type the name in the box, click Save, then click OK. Your drawing is
now saved!

 On the Paint.NET program, there are many different tools will you
in drawings especially when you are making lines, squares,
rectangles, and ovals.

Colors make things beautiful and lively. On the Paint.NET program,

you may add colors to your drawings by using the Paint Bucket and
Paintbrush Tools.
Pencil Tool

The pencil tool works like a real pencil.

We can use it to draw many things,
like your face and your house.

To draw, just click on the “pencil

tool”, It is found in the Tools Window.
To begin drawing, click on the left
button on the mouse. Then Drag the
pencil tool cursor around the screen. To
stop drawing. Let go of the left button.

We can also change the color of the pencil.

Just click on the “colors window” the color

that you want. Your pencil now becomes a color
pencil!

Line/ Curve Tool

We can use the “line/curve tool” to draw straight

and curved lines in Paint.Net. To draw a line,

click on where you want to line to start. Then drag

the cursor to where you want it to end.

To turn the line into a curve, use the handles or “nubs”

Found on the line. You will see four nubs. Click on the nub
and drag it to another part of the screen. The straight-line now
becomes a curve!

Shapes Tool

We can use the “Shape Tool” to make different shapes in Paint.NET.

We can make these shapes in different sizes.

We can also choose the color of the shape in the “Colors Window”.

Paint Bucket Tool

“Paint Bucket tool” works as a paint can. It lets you fill your drawing
with color.

To color your drawing:

1. Click on the “Paint Bucket” tool.

2. Then click on a color in the
“color wheel” or “palette”.
3. Take the Paint Bucket tool
Icon to the area you want to color
 4. Click the left mouse button and the area will be filled with color.

Paintbrush Tool

The Paintbrush tool works like just a real paintbrush. You use it as a
pencil tool. Just click and drag wherever you want the paint to appear.
You can also change the size of the brush in the” brush-width”.
