1. Explain all three uses of dimensional analysis, with one example each.

2. State Law of Parallelogram of Vectors.


Derive an expression for magnitude and direction of resultant vector in the same.

3. Distinguish between Longitudinal and transverse waves (Minimum 5 points each)


Derive relation between speed of sound, frequency and wavelength of the wave.

4. Define:
a. e.m.f. of cell
b. Potential difference of cell
c. Conductance
d. Temperature coefficient of resistance
e. Resistor

5. A physical quantity ‘x’ is related to four measurable quantities a, b, c and d by the


relation x = a2b3c5/2d-2 . The percentage error in the measurement of a, b, c, d are 1%,
2%, 3% and 4% respectively. Find the percentage error in quantity ‘x’.
If the value of ‘x’ is calculated on the basis of above relation is, 2.763, then to what
value should you round off the result.
