ESG Report Template

This document provides greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data for various scopes of emissions. Scope 1 covers direct emissions, such as from natural gas consumption. Scope 2 covers indirect emissions from purchased electricity. Scope 3 includes other indirect emissions from activities like paper waste disposal, employee commuting, and supply chain transportation. Emission factors are provided to calculate carbon dioxide equivalents for reported activity data across the different scopes.

CO2-equivalent
When using the emission factors provided and calculating your carbon footprint you might
notice use of the units “CO2-e”, which represents equivalent carbon dioxide emissions. This
quantity is the concentration of carbon dioxide that would cause the same amount of global
warming as another greenhouse gas which is emitted.
For example, ruminant animals such as cows release methane (CH4) as part of digestion.
Using the CO2-e concept, the CH4 emission can be converted into equivalent CO2 by using
the global warming potential as a multiplying factor.

Greenhouse Gas Global Warming Potential, GWP

Carbon dioxide, CO2 1
Methane, CH4 21
Nitrous oxide, N2O 310
Hydrofluorocarbon HFC-23, CHF3 11700
Hydrofluorocarbon HFC-134a, CH2FCF3 1300
Sulphur hexafluoride, SF6 23900
