 Bu bölümde modern devletin tarihsel süreç içinde

ortaya çıkışı ve bu gelişmenin modern uluslararası

sistemin temel özelliklerinin belirmesi üzerine
etkilerini inceleyeceğiz. Uluslararası İlişkilerin bir
akademik disiplin olarak ortaya çıkması da, bu
bağlamda modern devlet ve uluslararası sistemin
gelişiminin bir sonucu olarak kabul edilmektedir.
 Dolayısıyla Uluslararası İlişkiler öğrencilerinin,
uzmanı olacakları akademik disiplinin doğasını
kavrayabilmesi için modern devletin özelliklerini ve
modern devletin hâkim unsur haline gelmesiyle
uluslararası sistemin ne yönde değiştiğini algılaması
gereklidir.
 Bu bölümün ele aldığı konuyu anlayabilmek için
aşağıdaki kavramları araştırın ve bu konuda Türkçe ve
İngilizce kaynaklardan yararlanarak bir ön hazırlık
yapın.
