Abstract

In this paper, we'll talk about the importance and applications of petroleum development
geology in the petroleum industry. It describes the responsibilities of a petroleum development
geologist in predevelopment analysis, development drilling, well monitoring, and field research.
The interpretation of contour maps, various geological hydrocarbon structures and traps,
hydrocarbon migration and pathways, isopach construction, and reserve calculations are also
covered in the report. The report also offers a summary of Rational Functional Tester (RFT), an
object-oriented automated functional testing tool used for GUI and regression testing in
software applications. Reusability, consistency, and productivity are just a few of the advantages
and characteristics of RFT that are highlighted. Additionally, how to access the area using Adobe
Acrobat to get the initial gas in place

Conclusion

The analysis of the contour map has led to the conclusion that the map has a dome- structure.
The RFT interpretation equation's application, which shows that the fluid gradient falls between
0.05 and 0.2, confirming the presence of gas-water fluid, is a key element in identifying the type
of fluid present. The RFT method involves analyzing a number of pressure samples taken at
various depths, which can reveal important details about the reservoir. The isopach map is used
to calculate the area using the Adobe method and the volume using the Trapezoidal and
Simpson's rules, which is included in the report as well. This report emphasizes the importance
development geologists are to the petroleum industry. Their responsibilities include modeling
and comprehending the entire petroleum production process, as well as determining whether
the reservoir's reserves of crude oil are economically feasible.
