Summary:
In this story, the writer is telling us about an old man whose name was
Prospero and lived on and island with her daughter Miranda and she
came to this island so young that she had no memory of any other
human being beside her dad. They lived in a cave or a cell made out of
rock there were several apartments including one which Prospero
called his study. He was thrown on this island by a strange chance and
the island was enchanted by a witch called Sycorax. Sycorax had
imprisoned in the body of large trees of this ariel was the chief. There
was an ugly monster called Caliban who owed sycorax a grudge.
Prospero would have been kind to him but he couldn’t because of the
bad nature he inherited from her mother. Sycorax wouldn’t let him do
it stuff which was good or useful instead he would do laborious stuff.
But he was lazy and neglected to his work and ariel would sometimes
pinch him or tumble him. Prospero had powerful spirits that let him
control the wind and the sea waves. He raised a violent storm by ng his
powers, he showed his daughter a large ship and told her that there
were human beings like him but they had sunken in the sea because of
the storm. She was really upset and told him that if she knew about it,
she would have died with them. But then Prospero told her daughter
that the humans in the ship did not get hurt. He told her that how much
he loved her, also told her that she doesn’t than asked her if she
remembers when they came on this island and she said no. Prospero
also told her that he had a little brother whose name was Antonio and
he was really fond of retirement and study and told her that he left the
management of his state to her uncle. Then told her that after giving
the affairs to his uncle his brother started to act like he was the duke.

That Prospero told him that making himself popular among his subjects
is bad nature, and told her that his brother was then attached to the
king of Naples who was his enemy. Then told her that Antonio carried
who loved Prospero left some water, clothes and other provisions.
After that he told her that in the ship which had sunken there was King
of Naples, Antonio and King of Naples son Ferdinand, but told her that
the Ferdinand hadn’t died. Then Prospero asked Ariel to summon
Ferdinand and as Ferdinand was summoned. Then Ferdinand asked
where was his father ariel told him he was safe sitting under the sea
sadly with his arms folded. After that ariel started giving Ferdinand a
tour of the island and as he was giving them the tour ariel started and
then ariel started telling him about Miranda and how he will be happy
with and also sang a song for Ferdinand so now ariels song made him
forget about his son and he really wanted to meet her and when he
met her she thought he was the goddess of this enchanted island but
then she told him that she was just a simple maid after a while when
they were talking Prospero knew that it was love at first sight but to
test the princes constancy he told him that he knew he was a spy and
he was going to tie his feet and neck and make him eat raw sea food
Ferdinand refused and drew his sword but Prospero froze him right
where he was Miranda was really unhappy and tried to stop his father
after a little while he unfroze him and told him to obey his commands
and he couldn’t resist because he knew what any one could do with the
magical wand so Prospero told Miranda and Ferdinand to pick up some
logs and as they started Prospero pretended to go in his study but he
went invisible in front of them and then after a while Miranda offered

to carry Ferdinand’s logs but he resisted she then tried and forced him
but he still didn’t give the logs. After that he asked her name but she
said her father doesn’t allow to speak her name but she did and
Prospero just smiled after that Miranda told her how much she loved
Ferdinand and broke a lot of rules and told her how much she loved
him from her heart after that Ferdinand in a long speech also told her
that he was here with the crown of Naples and she should be her wife
and as she accepted Prospero became visible to them and told them
that he has approved everything. After that he left them called ariel and
told him to bring his brother and king of Naples back, he brought them
back Ferdinand was very happy when he saw his father and told
showed him Miranda who was going to be the princess of her, he also
ha mistaken her with the goddess which Ferdinand told her she was
not.
