Break the Wall of Silence

Broke, silence, and confused. These are the challenges which Darryn have met in his

own battle. His life is not just a simple story to told, it is something to be proud of. A

powerful human being that inspires every person to express ourselves despite of the

struggles and obstacles that kept our mouth silent and ashamed of our identity or

personality.

Came from a broken family is one of the hardest thing that everybody can feel.

Family must be the foundation of our life and source of support. But in Darryn’s case,

it’s different. At a very young age, he accepted his fate. Luckily, he met his foster mom

that made him felt love and appreciated. She love him to the fullest and treat as her own

child.

Unfortunately, life is very challenging. There’s always a trial in every single step we

take. Just like Darryn, he entered the stage of confusion and disappointment. Asking

our own worth, our role, and our own identity. But the major problem he had is the issue

of homosexuality. He even judged himself first, felt ashamed, and even shut his own

mouth. And this thing is experienced by LGBTQ+ community.

I have friends, classmates, and even relatives that is also part of LGBTQ+. Based on

their stories, it is same as Darryn have experienced. The pre-judgement within

themselves feels like burying their own body. Keeping your closet closed and hide it to

everybody. Afraid of being judge and humiliated by others.

But as we all know, every cloud has its own silver lining. Even a single light can

be seen in fully dark room, and it is the hope that shines within. Acceptance, this is the

first thing to do with our own. If we truly accepted who we are, like Darryn, we become

powerful and independent.

There is no reason to be afraid of. Exposed our real identity and stand with it. Every

person is unique and must be treated properly. We are all equal in the eyes of our

Almighty God. Each of us is important and belong to society. LGBTQ+ community is a

symbol of hope and positivity, which everybody can urge to move forward with their

journey.

For those youths whose dealing with this kind of problem, you are not alone. We are

here to support and accept you for who you are. You are special and not to

feel ashamed. And the good thing is, homosexuality was not a big issue anymore. All

around the world, it is getting accepted. Only a few places were remaining that still close

for this issue, but soon it will understand and open for it.

Let’s just wait for that time and enjoy our life. Set your own free from the cage of

humility, there’s no room for that. Spend the remaining days of our lives with meaningful

memories and faith in God. That was a sweet escape from the darkest shade of agony,

and run free towards the sunlight of hope and positivity.
