    p The cylinder barrel (1) must be free from combustion residue.


    False measurements can occur otherwise.

    1 Insert the respective piston ring (2) in the bottom,


    unworn area of the respective cylinder barrel (1) and
    align at a right angle to the cylinder barrel (1).

    i Use a piston without piston rings (2) for alignment.

    2 Measure the end gap (arrow) at the corresponding


    piston ring (2). A

    i Commercially available devices/tools


    Feeler gage

    If wear on the piston ring (2) is detected,


    ↓
    Replace all piston rings (2) of the affected piston.
