Bullied into succeed

1 Read and answer

Jill I believe you´ve been having problems in school. What happened?

Kelly Well, er, we used to live in Surrey but we moved to Birmingham earlier this year. When I first went

to Kingsbury School, the kids used to make fun of my Southern accent, but I didn´t think much of it.

Some of the boys would make remarks and play jokes as well.

Jill Such as?

Kelly Silly things really. They´d hide my pencils or books, the usual things. As I said, I didn´t think much of it

until things started to get a lot worse.

Jill What happened then?

Kelly Well, you know when designer trainers were in? Well, all the kids started wearing them except me.

They would taunt me and make fun of my shoes. I mean, I really like trainers but I never nag my Mum

about clothes because she can´t afford it. Anyway, one day, a group of girls hid my shoes in the

changing room after a sports lesson.

They kept pushing their precious trainers in my face. I got so angry that I told the teacher. Well I got

my shoes back but it made them so mad that they attacked me after school. I had so many bruises

that I was taken to hospital.
