CHAPTER 1

THE PROBLEM AND IT’S BACKGROUND

INTRODUCTION

It is unavailable in the modern era that the issue had a significant impact on
schools. from cellphones, tablets, and laptops to online learning platforms, the usage
of technology in the classroom has been increasing. This has created a debate
about the effectiveness of technology in education, specifically its impact of
technology on the learning experiences of grade 10 students.

The usage of technology in education has become increasingly relevant,

particularly in higher education institutions however in secondary schools, the use
the use of technology is still a matter of debate with some arguing that it may distract
students and hinder their learning .on the other hand proponents of technology of
education argue that it can enhance the learning experience of students making it
more engaging and interactive.

In recent years, there has been an exponential growth in the number of

educational technology tools available to teachers from educational apps to virtual
and augmented reality tools however despite the increasing availability of these tools
little is known about the specific factor that contributes to the successful integration
of technology in the classroom thus, understanding the impact of technology on the
learning experiences of grade 10 student can provide valuable insights into the
effective use of technology in secondary education.

This study aims to shed light on this topic and contribute to the ongoing dialogue
about the role of technology in education.

7
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

What is tech-enhanced learning? An investigation on the influence of technology

on the learning experience of grade 10 students Here is one question to help
understand whether this research benefited more or less from technology use in the
classroom.
Does using technology impact the performance of students in the classroom?

Were there any particular groups of students who benefited more or less from

technology use in the classroom?

What is the extent to which technology can play a role in enhancing the learning

experience of students in the classroom and how can it be effectively utilized to

support improved learning outcomes?

We will be answering that in our Research.

THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK

The theoretical framework of this study is based on two main theories:

constructivism and the technology acceptance model

Constructivism

Constructivism is a learning theory that emphasizes the importance of active

learning and the construction of knowledge through social interaction and
experience. According to this theory, learners construct knowledge through a
process of assimilating new information into their existing mental state, frameworks.
Technology-enhanced learning aligns with the constructivist approach by providing
students with a range of interactive and collaborative learning opportunities that
facilitate active engagement in the learning process

Technology Acceptance Model:

The technology acceptance model (TAM) is a theoretical framework. that

explains how individuals perceive and adopt new technology. According to this
model, an individual's attitude toward using technology is influenced by its perceived
usefulness and ease of use. In the context of education, the TAM suggests that the
perceived usefulness and ease of use of technology will influence students'
willingness to engage. with and learn from technology-enhanced learning
environments.

9
Proposed Hypotheses

Based on the theoretical framework outlined above, the following. hypotheses are
proposed

Hypothesis 1: Students who are exposed to technology-enhanced learning

environments will have a more positive attitude toward technology than those who
are not.

Hypothesis 2: The perceived usefulness of technology-enhanced learning will

positively influence students' academic achievement.

Conclusion:

The proposed study aims to investigate the influence of technology on the learning
experience of Grade 10 students. The theoretical framework of this study is based
on the constructivist. approach and the technology acceptance model. The proposed
hypothesis suggests that the students who are exposed to technology-enhanced
learning environments will have a more positive attitude toward technology, and that
the perceived usefulness and the ease of use of technology-enhanced learning will
have a positive influence on students' academic achievement. The research
methodology will involve a mixed- -methods approach. utilizing surveys and focus
groups to collect both quantitative and qualitative data.

CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK

The major goal of this investigation is to understand how excessive usage of

technology affects pupils in Rizal High School's Grade 10 student's ability to learn.

This conceptual Framework demonstrates the issue at hand as well as the

procedures followed in order to address and resolve it.

11
Figure 1. Conceptual Paradigm

The conceptual framework defines the study's research approach, which includes

an input, process, and output model. The research gathers the data from the

respondent's grade 10 students.

The researcher made two types of forms, surveying, and a questionnaire conducted

in rizal high school, they asked grade 10 students if the technology will be bad or

good, and the researcher will make questions that well address the research

questions in relation to its objective. We did a survey and questionnaire so that we

could find out more quickly which of the two affected the grade 10 students more

due to the excessive use of technology.

As a result, we expect to successfully find the right effective way to solve the

students in grade 10 who are addicted to the use of technology, and find the right

effective way to prevent the excessive use of technology. That will help grade 10

students and their studies if the excessive use of technology can be solved.

12
ASSUMPTION AND HYPOTHESIS TECHNOLOGIES

The study aims to determine which of the learning equipment is more reliable,
either technology or academic process. It has a huge impact on the grade 10
students. Other questions that the research will investigate are

1. Significance of academic learning and technology learning and processing

2. Where the technology was created if it didn't exist before
3. The huge impact of grade 10 Students without any technology support

from the application of Scientific Knowledge will Reduce the industry's ability to
spend money on new technology. the branch of knowledge dealing with engineering
or applied Sciences.

13
SCOPE AND LIMITATION

We have conducted a survey of 25 grade 10 students This investigation aims to

explore the impact of technology on the learning experience of Grade 10 students

through the use of Tech-Enhanced Learning. The study highlights. the benefits of

incorporating technology in the classroom include improving students' academic

achievement and increasing their engagement and enthusiasm to learn. Additionally,

this study provides insights into how these findings can influence the future use of

technology in education. It offers a general explanation of how technology can have

a positive impact on the academic performance of students and how it can enhance

their experience in the classroom. While technology seems to be a promising tool for

education, this research expands on the specific ways technology can yield

desirable results in the context of learning.

One factor that hinders the accuracy of investigations is the reliability of the
respondents. The level of sincerity and honesty that respondents display can
significantly affect the outcome of the investigation. Another limitation is the limited
access to the problem population, which can impact the sample size and
representativeness.
