Thanksgiving and Fortnite OG

Yesterday was Thanksgiving. The day before that was friendsgiving. The few weeks
before that were Fortnite OG. Throughout Covid and high school my friends and I would play a
lot of Fortnite and the game changed over time. The map and game mechanics tweaked little by
little until the game seemed very far off from where it started. That was until the announcement
and release of Fortnite OG. Upon announcement, the internet exploded with memes about
getting the old squad back together. All jokes derive from some form of truth so me and the
homies knew what we had to do. We were back and better than ever. I was racking up kills with
the sniper faster than Chriss Kyle. The nostalgia was real. Over the last few weeks tha map has
rapidly gone through what took years of change. They just announced an in game Eminem
concert. I was one of 12 million players at the famous Travis Scott Fortnite concert, and I hope
this will be just as hype.
Wednesday, we held a friendsgiving at my house. All of my boys from out of state
colleges were home for the week and we decided we had to get together and run it back like old
times. We all agreed to either make or bring some food. It was great to see the guys I grew up
with and talk about life and stuff. After we ate we played jackbox games and as always, made
our answers as far from politically correct as possible.
Yesterday was Thanksgiving. My family always gets together for the feast and then plays
games after. This year was no different. It was a great time and the food was tasty. My mom
normally makes turkey and mashed potatoes. One of my sisters made cinnamon rolls, I made a
cornmeal cake, and the extended family brought all the rest. It is weird to think this will be my
last Thanksgiving for a few years, but I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.
