Sun Myung Moon's Insights On The Heart Of God (Part 1

God's grief at the Fall

Now the serpent was more subtle than any other wild
creature that the LORD God had made. He said to the
woman, "Did God say, 'You shall not eat of any tree of
the garden'?" And the woman said to the serpent, "We
may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden; but
God said, You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree
which is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you
touch it, lest you die. "' But the serpent said to the
woman, "You will not die. For God knows that when you
eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be
like God, knowing good and evil. " So when the woman
saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a
delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be
desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and
ate; and she also gave some to her husband, and he ate.
Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that
they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and
made themselves aprons. And they heard the sound of the
LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day,
and the man and his wife hid themselves from the
presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.
Genesis 3:1-8
God lost the original position of parent through the
Fall. Our true father is God, but in fact Satan claimed
the father's role. Therefore, Jesus said, "You belong
to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out
your father's desire." (John 8:44) If you know for a
fact that you have Satan's blood, you must courageously
root it out. Have you ever intended to do this? If you
do so, you are God's loyal subject. (11-243)

The final religion should teach us in depth about the

pitiful heart of God. God is not always experiencing
happiness and bliss; He is in a sad plight. A true
religion should teach this fact in detail to enable us
to be God's filial children. (151-102)

How grievous it is that God is deprived of a throne! He

has suffered severe pain rather than receiving glory.
Although He is the original king of the universe, He
has been mistreated unto death. He was robbed of His
ideal and His loving children, and this earth has
become Satan's toy. (105-199)

Because there has never been a unified or sovereign

nation that God could govern, He could not receive
honor as creator and true ruler. We have to know
clearly our obligation as filial sons and daughters to
comfort God's distress and sorrowful heart. Jesus said
you will know the truth, and the truth will set you
free! If you have knowledge, you will be released! This
is the truth that we must clearly teach the world. (56-
327)

How many tears have you shed for God? Have you
struggled to understand and relieve God's pain and
toils? In order to be His children, you have to shed
tears for Him. Our tears will gush out when we feel
God's heartbreak upon losing His beloved children and
the sufferings and distress He underwent in order to
save them. Our heart breaks when we understand that
after He was robbed of all footholds, God could not
destroy the fallen and corrupt world, although He had
the power to do so. What matters most is that we
sympathize with God and shed tears for His broken
heart. (51 – 111)

No parents want their children to be hanged for

committing crimes. Parents will leave no stone unturned
in their search for a way to save their children. This
is the case especially with mothers. If this is the
wish of all parents in the fallen world, why would the
omniscient and omnipotent God wait to the Last Day to
exercise judgment? Why could God not: pardon human
beings and save them on the spot? If Jesus forgives
people 70 times 7, God forgives 70 times 7000. That is
God's desire and heart. (48-235)

God’s plan for re-creation

God's providence is the restoration providence. It

started from Adam and Eve because they were the authors
of the Fall. Adam was not restored until I appeared on
earth. God, who is the almighty and all-knowing
creator, cannot come forward until He finds a true
Adam, even if it takes thousands of years. You must
know the love and lasting regret of this God. (237-27)

What is God's will? It is the fulfillment of the ideal

of creation. Furthermore, it is to realize the ideal of
three objects. God will say, "How happy I am!" when
this ideal is realized centering on divine love. What
enables God to be happy? Today all Christians think
that the omniscient and omnipotent God sits on the
throne as the Lord of lords, and everything proceeds
according to His command. But in fact how lonely and
miserable God is! (170-95)

Who knew the miserable mind and heart of God who had to
turn a blind eye to the death of His beloved son,
Jesus? The origin and circumstances of the matter are
not written in the Bible. Therefore, I am sorry for the
passionate Christian who has no knowledge of this fact.
Who could not understand why God could not protect
Christians from suffering and persecution, from being
beaten, decapitated, or fried in oil. But we can guess
now how grievous and distressed He was when He was
unable to exercise Hs omniscient power. If we recognize
this fact, how can we say that God just sits on the
highest, most glorious throne? I really want Christians
to know this difficult situation of God. (64-222)

It is natural that we want to protect our beloved at

the risk of our lives. It is the original nature of
human beings to do so. The same is true with God, who
loves His children. Thus God has devoted His life to
save His fallen children. (206-24)

If Adam and Eve had not fallen, God would have been the
permanent Lord and Creator. But as a matter of fact,
Satan became the lord of the world. If a girl of noble
birth is raped by a hoodlum, to whom does she
inevitably belong? She will be his wife. The same thing
happened with the human Fall.
Adam could have been the king of heaven and Eve his
queen. To return to the original position requires
following the principle of creation. God laid down the
law of love for Adam l and Eve from the first, so it
has to be observed. If it is violated, the original
heavenly law will be destroyed.

If this heavenly law that God himself set up is

violated, God Himself as the absolute Creator can be
denied. That is why God launched the way of re-
creation. Who knew this secret, grievous plight of God?
(207-272)

Today most Christians think of God as a glorious,

unfeeling judge dispatching people to hell or heaven
without qualms. But God is the most miserable one in
the universe. He has struggled and overcome all
difficulties in order to give rebirth to His dead
children in the darkness of the fallen world. It has
been possible to overcome all these distresses and
difficulties through the Creator's absolute power. If
not, it would be all over for Him and us. (232-114)

What is God's role? He is the original true parent. But

His role as true parent was usurped, and as a result an
event took place that should not have happened in the
original ideal of creation. God as creator could not
interfere with or bear responsibility for what was not
supposed to exist in the original creation. (240-164)

God could not intervene in the Fall

God has felt sorrow, grief and distress in looking for
His children for 6,000 years. What is the original sin
of human beings according to Divine Principle? It is
erroneous Love. Our love should have been connected to
God's love, life and blood lineage. On the contrary, it
was connected to evil love, life and blood lineage.
Because Adam and Eve became the origin of evil, they
produced lasting regret. Why was the omniscient,
omnipotent, and sovereign God so helpless in the face
of Satan's evil? If you do not know this reason, you
can naturally deny the existence of God. (211-21)

I have lots of stories, more than tongue can tell. They

are full of resentment and mortification. Although they
were very difficult to endure, I clenched my teeth and
focused on occupying Cain's world. I had to overcome
representatives of Cain on the level of not just the
individual or family but also the world. There were
bitter, enormous obstacles to overcome. It was as if I
had melted a something huge and bitter in my mouth, but
I could not escape overcoming the obstacles. (163-163)

Satan became the progenitor of the human race. The

first human ancestors received Satanic love and life,
and thus the process of their restoration has been so
difficult. Why didn't God, whom Christians have always
understood to be omnipotent and omniscient, intervene
in the human Fall? He seemed to be dead.

God cannot liberate human beings until they establish

the condition of liberation on their own, because they
committed the sin themselves. If God had been able to
liberate Adam and Eve at the outset, He would not have
driven them out from the Garden of Eden. If He could do
as He pleases, He would not have expelled them, but He
could not help doing that. (224-46)

We should have the mind and heart that God seeks. God
wants true love. We are the true sons and daughters
that God has sought throughout the providence of
salvation and restoration. With pure love flowing like
waterfalls, we should help God extend His chest in
pride and experience great happiness from us. Every
Unification Church member should do that. (127-39)

Satan scornfully said to God, "Can you insist on the

Principle of Creation that God and humankind should
establish the Kingdom with the true and single lineage
centering on God's Ideal of creation, even though it
was almost completely ruined?" How should God respond
to that blame? How dumfounded He is! How many Christian
are there who know God's grievous heart when He sees
His original children become children of the enemy in
front of Him and fall into extreme misery? (200-235)

Jesus came as a parent

Jesus came to human beings as a parent. What makes you

think he came to die on the cross? He came to host a
festival of love, reconciliation and peace between God
and humankind, between one person and another. Jesus
and humanity should have met each other as parents
meet: their lost children after a long search. But
actually Jesus was killed by those same lost children.
Guess how miserable Jesus was, and how grievous God was
because He was not able to show them the secret story
of restoration! (145-152)
I also have a unique combination of historical sorrow
and regret. But mine is nothing compared with God's.
God has not been able to function as God. We should
know the miserable, bitter tears and blood that God has
scattered on the historical spots during the providence
of restoration. I do this historical task because I
have the mission to work off God's sorrowful grudge.
(137-175)

God does not just sit only on a noble, honorable, holy,

and clean throne. He is responsible for restoring the
fallen world. He has a wretched, pathetic and
distressful background beyond our imagination and
description. (21-73)

We can be consoled by someone with more reasons to be

resentful than we have, but God has no one who can
comfort Him because He has more grievances than anybody
in the world.

God is finally responsible for everything, bad or good,

in the world because He is Alpha and Omega. Nobody has
known how God dissolves His grievances, but this is how
God has carried out the restoration providence. (29-
294)

God has never cried to the full depth of His heart. He

has checked himself from doing so. This is the part of
the story we should comprehend in the world of heart.
(49-291)
How resentful and filled with grief God became when He
was unwillingly separated from human beings who should
have been with Him permanently! People should grow to
maturity and become the fountains of love and the axis
uniting all the vertical and horizontal planes in the
universe.

If they had accomplished this, God's children would

have been the measure and standard of love among
everything that exists in the spiritual and physical
universe. Whatever joins connects to this love becomes
peaceful and balanced. (149-213)

Satan trampled upon four generations, from the first

princess to her grand and great-¬grand-daughters. They
lived together and Satan violated all of them, naked in
front of the King's face. We should know the heart of
God who cannot take vengeance on this enemy. (200-68)

God's grief is that humanity inherited false blood

lineage. You inherited false blood. Satan is the origin
of this. He always wants to play havoc with all
creation.

All humanity is the fruit of evil origin. How much

distress God experiences in His yearning to save them!
Why could God not get rid of fallen Adam and Eve and
remake them? He had the power to do this, but the
original parent/child relationship of love between God
and the first ancestors could not be disconnected under
any circumstances. (2I6-36)
You should know God's sorrow and grief. God can say,
"If I had not made humanity, I would not have
experienced this suffering. How could they fall like
this? They were destined for a glorious heaven and for
true love, but instead they inherited Satan's flesh and
blood."

God could not possess humanity without removing Satan's

blood, but if He removed their blood they would die.
Therefore, God had to set up a substitute as a second
creation by an infusion of new blood, life, and love.

God should love the enemy. He has to endure and love

His enemy. (212-42)

God never had any time for rest in any circumstances,

and you should follow His example of love. You should
also love the enemy, Satan, who is hiding himself in
the world. If you know the wonderful value of God's son
and worship his holiness, you can come to love your
enemy, although it is bitterly difficult to put into
practice. (127-119)

God's grief at losing His son and daughter

How sorrowful was God when Adam and Eve fell! They were
to be ideal children, embodying essential, pure love.
We cannot imagine His sorrow and grief. It is natural
that the higher the expectation, the worse the sorrow
when the expectation cannot be fulfilled. This is the
situation of God, who has pursued the way of
restoration for His lost children. (127-18)
When parents believe in their beloved children but are
betrayed by them, the parents experience shock,
distress, and misery beyond description. It is also
miserable when people mistrust and betray their
beloved. You could not know God's suffering and
distress even if you were in the same shoes. It is
evident that we cannot understand and know it through a
mere verbal explanation.

How miserable God came to be! God is not abstract but

concrete. Human beings are the best reciprocal objects
of God. With human beings, God can share His limitless
love and happiness. But God lost the starting base due
to the Fall of Adam and Eve.

How desperate it is when an only son born after a

lineage of seven generations dies, breaking the family
line, especially if this son were born when his parents
were advanced in years. All parents want to receive
blessings through their children. When their children
die before they do, the parents themselves feel like
dying.

Adam's position was like that of the only son, not

merely after seven generations, but for all
generations. Can you guess how profoundly God's heart
was broken at the death of Adam, who was to inherit
God's great effort of creation and establish an
everlasting family? Even after 6,000 years God has not
recovered from the shock of Adam and Eve's Fall.
According to the Principle of Creation, God was to be
the center of permanent love. However, Satan took His
place. Therefore, everything became inverted, turned
upside dawn. Nothing should have separated this oneness
centering on God's true and ideal love. Humanity’s
blood lineage should have originated from God, but in
fact everything went the wrong way.

Can you imagine much it breaks God's heart to watch

human misery every day? God's dignity sank to the
bottom when His son and daughter, whom He intended to
glorify as prince and princess, fell into hell. Where
can we find His dignity? He does not dare to show His
face in public. (218-227)

No loving parents can turn a blind eye to their dying

Children. In this view, God as a loving father cannot
leave us in the position of death. If He is omniscient
and omnipotent, God should make an ideal world and
revive His dying children. This is possible and
inevitable, especially considering the nature of
parental love in human beings.

Thus, it is no wonder that God should move us to the

sphere of ideal resurrection. God did not leave us in
misery and death, but transformed human misery and
distress into the gateway of a lofty dimension. How
wonderful God's transformation is! (67-219)

God wanted to love Adam arid Eve to the full,

regardless of the prestige of being Creator and the
almighty and omnipresent God. Can you imagine His heart
of love toward even the fallen Adam and Eve? (7-291)
Satan is happy to see God sorrowful and human beings
ruined. How much trouble God takes to save, lead, and
teach wretched human beings! God could not lead the
providence of restoration if He did not love us in our
misery with the sympathetic heart of a parent. (42-257)
God has been miserable throughout history

How sad God is when He looks down us on earth! All

human beings should have had His blood lineage, but
Satan pushed them into a miserable state and laughs at
God and human condition.

When Satan asks God, "Why can’t you in all your

omniscience and omnipotence save this difficult
situation?" God has to be silent. He has to pretend to
be deaf though He can hear, pretend not to smell though
He can smell, and pretend not to feel though He can
feel. Have you ever thought of this historical misery
of God? (183-19)

Even if God may sit on a glorious throne, as Christians

believe, He cannot remain there and say, "Come up here,
because I cannot leave my seat," when He sees His
children dying. He will throw away His crown and leave
His throne, however glorious they are, and come down to
us. (123-159)

We should know how long God has cried out for us,
calling out: "My son and my daughter!" Have you ever
called out to God, "Father!!" until your throat is
hoarse, your tongue is tied, and your breath smothered?
How earnestly have you valued life? Your character is
measured in proportion to your efforts to do this.
(184-219)

In your life of faith, you should distinguish

yourselves from the secular realm through the
philosophy of love. If you do so, you will
automatically become the people God needs as time goes
by. (149-37)

What made God pass through the way of suffering during

thousands of years? How can God continue His
restoration providence without becoming exhausted?
Because He is omniscient and omnipotent? No! Because He
has been walking the way of love for His beloved sons
and daughters.

Therefore, it is love that enabled God to go the

suffering course for thousands of years and feel as if
a thousand years were but one day. (109-281)

Is God pitiable or not? Many people doubt that God is

pitiable. However omniscient and omnipotent He may be,
nothing relieves the loss of His beloved children. If
He could relieve Himself from that shock, He would not
have had to suffer the 6,000 years of restoration. (35-
88)

God does not just blame people for their sin, saying,
"Hey, guys! Why did you commit sins?" He knows the
state of people who sin. He cares not about Himself but
about humanity. He came in sorrow to sorrowful
humanity, in suffering to suffering humanity, and in
grief to grieving humanity.
How much do you communicate with God? He came to us
with a sympathetic heart. With a father's heart, He has
searched for us for 6,000 years, although we betrayed
Him. (9-231)

What is the Unification Church and what is it doing? It

teaches God's heart. It seeks to liberate God. Even a
great president of a nation will shed tears and wail
for his lost children. Maintaining his dignity as
president is of no importance in front of his
children's life. Being a loving father takes priority
over his authority as a president. It is natural that
any president should shed tears and weep loudly when
his child dies. (196-18)

How sorrowful God is to see His children lose their

original value and fall into the pit! How dumbfounded
He is to see people groaning in lamentation, suffering
and despair instead of inheriting God's life, love and
blood lineage! Nobody knew God was so sorrowful. That's
why I cried out for many days. We should know that the
Unification Church started in God's sorrow and grief.
(211-207)

Nobody has known about the suffering in God’s heart. I

revealed God’s secret. (215-171)

God has been unable carry out His role

My grief cannot be compared with God’s grief. God has

been able to play the role of God. God’s tears and
blood are scattered throughout the providence of
restoration. I had undertaken this historical task
because I have the mission to relieve God’s sorrowful
heart. (137-175)

God should be liberated. God is constrained by love. He

may as well be ill prison, since He has not been free.
He was deprived of the ideal world of love owing to the
human Fall, and His heart is not free.

God is in the position of being bound in chains. How

can His mind and heart be at rest when His children
have died? (138-26I)

We should liberate God. He is not free. He lost his

beloved sons and daughters. Even with ten times as much
filial love as that of the lost filial son, it is not
easy to free God from this broken heart. Yet I am going
to liberate this God. (134-283)

God is full of grief and distress. Why? Those who work

hard in their youth are assured of a hopeful future.
Although God has invested painstaking efforts since the
beginning of history, is there a guarantee that His
bright hope will be realized? Are you sure that God's
hope will be realized? Is God young or old? How old do
you think God is? Because God is beyond the universe,
He has no age. Does God go around the sun one time
every year? We do not need to calculate this because He
is outside the solar system. (105-184)

How can any parent be comfortable while his children

are uneasy? This explains why we should liberate God
from His sorrow and distress. God is constrained from
loving all people fully; we should help God love them
freely. God's fetters were forged by humanity’s Fall,
and His liberation was also realized by our victory
over the Fall. (65-100)

What happened to God because of the human Fall? First

God became shackled and restrained, followed by the
progenitors of human race, the realm of angels,
religious people, and finally all human beings. (79-26)

The Unification Church has the mission to liberate the

physical world, the spiritual world, and a last God's
broken heart. So far we have looked to God to liberate
us, but in fact, we have to liberate God. We must not
falter in our efforts to that end. (85-270)

Adam and Eve were to be God's most beloved children and

the ideal couple, but they failed and lost everything
due to the Fall. Thus, the loving God became tormented
in mind and heart. (210-308)

Embraced in God’s love

Even manacles in prison could not restrain me because I

had God’s love. In the darkness, my handcuffed hands
shone when I could not sleep, cramped in the tiny jail
cell. Why was there light? God’s love and embrace
caused my hands to emit light. God’s love caused the
light.
I was awed by God's love, even while being tortured in
the basement of the prison. The following day a packet
of rice powder was given to me by another prisoner who
had heard in his heart, "If you don't give this food to
this particular prisoner, all the prisoners and even
your family will be uncomfortable." This is my God! We
should be grateful to the God of love and treat Him
warmly. (137-202)

We should know the following facts: God is in shackles

on account of human beings and me; God was shamed
because of me; Jesus died on the cross for me; the Holy
Spirit works in the world for me. Let us pray for God
to give us power to enable us to liberate Jesus and the
Holy Spirit as well as God. God has sought faithful
people in hope and love for 6,000 years. (7-162)

There has been no foundation for God to set up the

Heavenly Kingdom of love. God has been incarcerated,
and the heavenly world became an empty, ruined castle.
(302-226)

By whom and what method can God's grief be dissolved?

Who can unbind God? Nothing can do it except by
returning God's essential love. (209-106)

God can do anything at His will, but He cannot interact

with unprincipled love. So He is frustrated and broken-
hearted. Nobody knows God's painful condition but God
Himself. (197¬-327)

Christians pray for blessings from God because we see

Him as holy, glorious, omniscient and omnipotent. But
God is not in that kind of situation. On the contrary,
He is fettered in misery. He should be liberated by
true children: This is the natural law. If the
providence of restoration does not follow this law, the
ideal world of re-creation cannot be established on
earth. It is the mission and history of the Unification
Church to teach this historical secret and to liberate
God through the love of true children. (22-151)

The human Fall brought God only bitter grief on a

worldwide scale. Thus Paul said that all creation waits
with eager longing for God's true sons and daughters.
(65-100)

Satan needs to yield voluntarily to God

It is a matter of theological dispute whether Satan

existed from the beginning. If so, it is a big problem.
If Satan existed originally, standing in the way of
God's providence of restoration for 6,000 years, who
can subjugate and eliminate him? (54-56)

Where did Satan come from? Some say that Satan has
existed from the first. If he is an original existence
who obstructed God and caused human beings to fall,
then we cannot expect complete salvation. This theory
gives rise to dualism and the conclusion that the world
with two opposite purposes will last forever. (53-328)

The ideal world of God's creation was disrupted by the

Fall, but because God is absolute, He can never change
His first intention. Even though He was deprived of
Adam, Eve and all creation by evil, God must subjugate
Satan naturally rather than by force.

Although God has almighty power. He has to reestablish

His authority as if He had no power. God cannot open
the first attack on Satan. The good God cannot stripe
the evil Satan. (210-340)

Why is the omniscient and omnipotent God unable to wipe

out Satan at a stroke? If He did so it would also
extinguish both Adam and the ideal sphere of love as
well. The absolute Lord is bound by His promises. That
is why He endures Satan and his fickleness, severe
attacks, and tenacious persecution. In order to recover
His proper principle, God forgives Satan and loves him.
(208-256)

Why did God let Satan infringe upon human beings? This
caused many people to deny the existence of God and is
one of the seemingly insoluble problems of theology and
the Bible. The answer is that God has no nation, no
people, no tribe, no family, and no individual whose
qualification He can officially recognize.

If God finds and sets up an individual, family, tribe,

people and a sovereign nation, He can gain real
authority for the first time. (56-247)

God became powerless because Satan deprived Him of His

love. Satan trampled on God's love, life and blood
lineage. We should know this truth. (206-236)
Satan was an archangel originally. He says to God,
"Even though I became Satan due to the Fall, you should
settle the problems according the principle you set up
because you are the absolute God. Although I violated
the law and became Satan, you should follow the Law you
laid down. (39-88)

I am going to explain why we cannot proceed on the way

of restoration without loving our enemy. It is very
important for you to know this truth. Although the
archangel violated the principle of creation, God
Himself must still observe it because He is absolute.
He rules over even the fallen archangel according to
the principle He laid down. God should always relate
with the archangel in the same way, whether before or
after the Fall. That is why Satan said to God, "You are
supposed to love me into the perfection period and even
after that." (52-87)

Adam was supposed to command the three archangels, and

they were to obey and love him unconditionally. But one
archangel did not show absolute obedience and love, and
he knows he cannot always get his way. He knows that
eventually he has to follow the same principle that
even the omniscient and omnipotent God must follow. It
is like a constitution that even a powerful president
must follow. (172-66)

Throughout my life, I have always dealt seriously with

issues of life and death, such as God's existence, why
the almighty God did not remove Satan at once, and why
God was powerless to help Job. With great seriousness,
I determined to reveal all the difficult secrets of
history! I have searched for the truth and the purpose
of life at the risk of my physical life. (187-122)
In the book of Job, God gave Satan all he asked. Why?
God cannot respond to Satan with evil because God is
the substance of love. So God is the essence of truth.
(144-161)

God subjugated Satan with His mysterious power of

creation, making Satan yield voluntarily. (207-315)

Who is God? God is like the mind of the universe, and

Satan is ruling its body. How can God solve this
problem? God cannot strike Satan with force. God always
keeps His original principle, even toward violators of
that principle. The essence of creation is love, and
restoration is possible with love. Therefore God cannot
recover His authority without the original true love
with which He created this universe. (210-229)

Satan is the enemy of love. He fractured God's vision

of love. The servant forcibly took away the nobleman's
daughter and violated her. Thus, she lost the
qualification to be the lord's daughter. The Fall is
mistaken and unprincipled love. (218-230)

God cannot achieve His original ideal unless He loves

the children of evil much more than His beloved
children. (208-291)

Satan defies God, saying, "You are the permanent and

immortal subject of love. You are the supervisor over
heaven and earth, the substance of truth, love, and
principle. So you always observe the principle and law
absolutely. Even though I fell, you have to practice
the law. Therefore, you cannot bring your sons and
daughters to the perfect world without loving the
fallen angels according to your law of restoration. You
set up the law that you cannot let your children enter
the Heavenly Kingdom unless your son and daughter and
even you yourself love me. You cannot be the true God
and your son and daughter cannot be true children
without loving me truly." (129-215)

If we commit any sin or crime, Satan charges us before

God and says, "Because of his sin, this guy must be
sent to hell." Satan has not been accused in front of
God for his sin, although he has surely committed
various sins and is always ready to blame humanity for
any sin.

How to overcome Satan

It is possible to overcome Satan by saying to God,

"Hello, absolute God! Satan committed such and such
unpardonable sins in front of You. Please punish him."
If God cannot get rid of Satan, God would not be
omniscient and omnipotent; He would be the side of
Satan, not humankind. (54-134)

Satan can go to heaven with Adam and Eve when they

reach perfect love, because he is the archangel. It is
the principle of creation that the archangel enters
heaven with Adam and Eve after receiving love from God
and then from Adam and Eve. In this sense, we can
understand why Jesus said to the people, "Love your
enemy!" (219-36)
When we come to have a father-child relationship with
God, crying out with our Heavenly Father, knowing God's
suffering and grief, then Satan will be frightened out
of his senses and run away. He can no longer stay
there. (228-217)

This world cannot be brought' back to the heavenly side

unless a man who can reclaim the original authority of
creation appears and restores the original position
over Satan. He must bring Satan to the omnipotent and
omniscient God and accuse Him saying, "God! Please
judge Satan for this enormous sin." (53-327)

So far we have been ruled over by Satan. Now we should

reverse it, capture Satan and bring him to God. Until
now, some people have known about Satan's existence,
but they did not know what sin he committed. Until now,
nobody has accused Satan before God, saying, "Oh God!
Please punish this sinful Satan with your almighty
authority." (51-88)

Then why can the omnipotent God not strike the fallen
archangel? Why can He not remove him? It is because God
also must love him. Although the archangel that God
created had fallen and become the devil, God should
always keep the same standard of the principle even
after the fall. That is why He should love the
archangel. Adam and Eve created by God are the body of
God. Therefore, not only God but also Adam and Eve must
love Satan. (175-9)
The reason why God cannot penalize Satan for killing
His beloved sons and daughters over the past 6,000
years is because God feels responsible for not having
loved him completely in the standpoint of the
archangel. For this reason, whenever someone does
wrong, there has been a continuous trail of Satan's
accusations: "God, so and so is doing this and that."
This has been known by the Unification Church alone,
which survived from the harsh environment. Otherwise,
no one could have known this. (35-95)

God has no interest in fighting, because there is no

concept of war and fight in the ideal world of God's
creation. If there were fighting there, the world would
fall into dualism of good and evil. There is only
absolute peace in the ideal world. (224-194)

Why did Satan fall and separate himself from God? Satan
has made divisions, conflicts, and fights everywhere.
Satan always wants to take, not giving to others. But
God combines small and worthless separate bits into a
large and worthwhile whole. God's way is contrary to
Satan's. God's principle is that of the creation of
universe. (179-33)

God avenges Himself on His enemy not by omnipotent

force but by subjugating him voluntarily with love.
Though he is judged and punished, he appreciates the
punishment because with sincere repentance for his sin
and even thankfulness for the punishment, his sin can
be redeemed completely. God desires to bring him to
such a. position. (42-275)

Let us liberate God

Who will be able to end the battle between the good God
and evil god? It's neither God nor Satan. Then who can
do it? Without a master of love who starts with true
love and carries true love with him and whom all
humanity can follow, the war between God and Satan
cannot end. Unless we are freed from this war, peace is
but a dream in human history.

Ideal is but an abstract and sentimental word. So God

sends a representative of true love: the Messiah or the
Savior. The Savior does not just save people but also
God. He punishes evil. The savior is the general
commander in liberating God and terminating evil.

The responsibility of the Savoir is to liberate God and

punish Satan. Who will exterminate this despicable
offender? God cannot do it; only the Messiah, the
Savior can.

What is it that we want? We want to find the religion

of the parents, not just sweet life. Centering on the
True Parents, we want to find the way of true love,
thereby liberating God. There is no liberation without
connecting to the standard of love.

Have you thought about the sovereign nation that you

love and want to attain? When one is willing to go to
prison for crimes he did not commit, a way of
liberation can be opened. Nobody knew that pioneering a
path of life and death means finding the path of hope
beyond an abyss of darkness. Nobody knows where I have
toiled in order to drill a tunnel to liberate the
people of the world.

In walking the path of loyalty to God, I have attended

God as the center and understand Him as someone I
should serve while cherishing love. This is the only
path that does not change for tens of thousands of
years even when times change. This is how I see things.

We must liberate God. I must liberate God. Instead of

trying to be saved, we must liberate God. This is the
consummation of the providence of salvation.

The Unification Church is the liberation army for God.

Liberating the world is easy. The world will be
liberated when people unite, but God's liberation
requires the unity of the realm of heart. We must have
the system of thought that can unite the realm of love,
mobilize the spiritual world, and lay the bridge of
heart on earth. This is more frightening and more
difficult than any other revolution.

Liberating humanity is easy, but liberating God is

hard. It is an amazing fact that Rev. Moon has come
forward to tackle this difficult and unprecedented job,
with a goal to settle all of providential history.

I have never prayed to receive blessing. Instead I

prayed, "Let me be a sacrificial offering for the sake
of Your liberation."
The Old Testament Age is an age for restoring God's
people by sacrificing the things of creation; the New
Testament Age is an age for restoring parents by
sacrificing children; and the Completed Testament Age
is an age for liberating God by sacrificing the family
of the parents.
Why God blessed America

God has been giving blessings to America for 200 years,

but Americans think these are just for them, for
Christianity, and for their country. They have
forgotten their responsibility to liberate all mankind
and promote their well-being by sacrificing America and
Christianity. l Instead they only think of America's
supremacy.

God's will is for America to build a worldwide

foundation, even by sacrificing itself and
Christianity. But it is not doing this. This is why
America is declining. Families are being broken;
churches are being destroyed; and the nation is being
dismantled.

We must penetrate hell in order to liberate God and

True Parents and save the world. After passing the
bottom of hell, we shall get to the Kingdom of Heaven.
The shortest path is to go through the bottom of hell.
This is why we are told to sacrifice and serve. If you
say, "I want to gain my salvation," you get an F. You
will never be able to reach the world level. You should
rather say, "I go forward in order to liberate God,
liberate True Parents, and save the world."
Because I know this, I've been doing this all my life.
I carry this burden even though I received persecution
and was sent to prison. Do I go to prison because I
enjoy it? It is for the sake of God and God's
liberation. I go for the sake of the liberation of
mankind and the world. I go the way of restoration
through indemnity because liberation does not come
without walking this path, and Satan cannot be overcome
in peace and comfort.

The liberation realm of responsibility is the

liberation realm of heart. God must be liberated, and
so must parents. How painful it must be for God to be
in the position of relating to evil parents, ever since
the Fall. So we must liberate True Parents and God. We
must be such children of filial piety. Are you trying
to live the good life, leaving the heavenly Parent to
suffer in misery? After bringing anguish to the
heavenly Parents, how can we seek a comfortable life?
Can we think of such a. thing?

In our daily life for the sake of God's liberation, we

should know that we cannot call upon God without a
heart steeped in tears. This is why John the Baptist
said, "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near." We
should repent. You should understand how insolent,
undignified, and shameless we have been. Even if we
fail to liberate the world, we have to liberate God
from pain.

How can the world be unified, and how can liberation be

achieved? Only when someone who can dominate Satan
appears will the spiritual world be liberated and the
physical world as well.
Does God need liberation? God in Himself is of course
already a liberated being. God can not experience the
condition of liberation only because people are not
liberated, and He has to liberate them. And God is not
someone who can simply liberate Himself. It is up to
people.

Christianity has the ideology of the Second Advent.

What will Jesus do when he returns? Do today's
Christians want to rise to the air on the clouds and
have a party? This belief is an absurdity. What will
Jesus do when he comes? What can Jesus boast about when
he comes? What is it that the Lord of the Second Advent
is supposed to do on earth? He does not come to bring a
comfortable life to Christians. We must liberate God.
The one who follows the way of righteousness and
fulfils the main responsibility to liberate God should
be the returning Lord.

Liberate God first and then the world

In saving the world, we should liberate God first. The

world can be liberated only after God is. Isn't it so?
I am proposing that we liberate the world after we have
liberated God. So let us melt the world with love by
malting heart connections. This is our battle.

With an understanding that we must go all the way to

the point of liberating God, we should gather the
people around like clouds to follow the parents to the
final destination. This way, individuals will lead to
families, and families will lead to tribes.
The value established through tribal, racial, and
national sacrifices will be reciprocated, thereby
restoring through indemnity all the saints who have
sacrificed themselves in history for the realm of
resurrection. It is our destiny to be unable to leave
this land without doing this, so we must do this even
if we die. This is the fate that nobody can avoid.

We must liberate God. God should be able to visit any

corner of this land and sing a song of praise: "My
ideal of creation is entirely realized through your
work of day and night. I am grateful and amazed." At
the same time, God should be able to love the world,
universe, spiritual world, and physical world. However,
this has not been realized. Satan's occupation of
darkness reaches all the way to God's throne. Hence, to
liberate God, we must liberate the spiritual world.

I like liberation much more seriously than you do. I

also like unification. How much do I like it? So much
that I will die for it. The gate of unification and the
gate of liberation do not lie in me; I have found out
that they lie in God, the great master of the universe.

I asked God, "What is it that You like most?" Then He

said, "It is liberation." The answer was simple: "What
I like most is liberation." So I asked, "Why can't You
gain liberation?" And He said, "I cannot do it alone."
This is the problem. God cannot do it alone.

Have you loved your nation? Have you loved your

children? Have you loved your race after having opened
the way for your children? Have you loved the world
after having opened the way for the world? Have you
opened the way to heaven? Only then will complete
liberation dawn. At dawn, the rays of the sun permeate
every valley and completely liberate all people who
have been held hostage in death. You have to sing
freedom and peace and declare the advent of the unified
world with liberation to be able to bypass the history
of thousands of years and become a prince of
liberation. You must be a standard-bearer of
unification to receive God's praise and enjoy eternal
happiness in God's bosom of love. This is how things
are. Are you confident to do this?

We need human liberation, but we need to liberate God

before that. Only then will human liberation follow,
and nobody thinks about this. Christian ministers
understand God as God of judgment surrounded by glory.
But this is a mistake. The God I know is not like that.
We must liberate God from the realm of death.

Complete liberation is based on love

Complete liberation means the liberation of parents,

liberation of children, and liberation of God. All
these must be accomplished at once. People went to hell
through their fallen parents all at once, and so the
restoration of heaven and earth is realized all at
once.

If a person or organization comes forward who

represents the race, who would it be? It must be an
organization or person who carries the tradition,
represents the age, and is able to reach the world
level, connecting the mission of the age to the mission
of the future. The truth of the Unification church has
no aggression. On the contrary, it seeks to save people
and raise them to a higher level. We must liberate all
people. We are raising the issue of liberation. We are
trying to unite the spiritual and physical worlds to
liberate God.

I don't even dream of getting praise and welcome for

myself. The ideal of the Unification Church is to
sacrifice itself to save the race, to save humankind,
to liberate heaven and earth, and finally to liberate
God. God will reinvest everything He retrieves, hoping
for a special world without the fall and for a great
migration toward heaven.

It is said that human history is 1.5 million years old.

When parents have lost all their dignity and authority
in the long struggle of history to find their lost
children, to whose sympathy will they appeal? The
sorrow in their heart cannot be resolved, nor can the
nail in their heart be pulled out, without their
children coming forward. Who will liberate God's bitter
heart, which must be soothed by tears of love and with
flesh and blood? We should know that God's liberation
precedes our own liberation. We should know that this
is the path to ultimate liberation sought by the people
of faith.

Finding the seeds of happiness

We should know where the seeds of happiness are. We

must find them because we lost them through the Fall.
This is why we need to find the true God.
So far, God has been the God of restoration, not the
original God. He is filled with sorrow and is to be
pitied. He is not the God of joy but of despair. So in
order to return to the original state, we must liberate
the God of restoration not with money, nor with power;
not with any person, but with true love.

We have begun with suffering and so we want to head for

the final destination with suffering. My name has been
miserable. I do not need money or honor. The hope to
find the new homeland lies only in liberating God,
liberating humankind, and liberating even Satan,
thereby building an eternal base of peace and love.

With such an understanding, you should struggle hard to

follow the path, forgetting breakfast, lunch, and
dinner, forgetting day and night, no matter how steep
and rough the mountains are that stand in the way. The
heavenly principle is that the longer you lead such a
life, the more God's ideal love will be with you, your
family, your clan, and your nation. I would like to ask
you to understand this and live accordingly.

Achieving greatness does not refer to a great face or

great body but to great thinking. People with a great
spirit say that even God will have to move and follow
them. I insist that we liberate God with love. To say
that the sorrowful God with the unfulfilled goal of
love is liberated today is not a daydream. We will
liberate God. This is all, isn't it? With the advent of
the age when the omniscient and omnipotent God can
exercise His full authority and full power, the.
kingdom of great peace will surely be realized. You
should know this. Only then will we say "Amen.''

The way of the filial son

I fully understand what it is like to have the

determination to fulfill God's will. I know what God's
love is like, and I know that I must bend my knees in
thanks and walk the path to offer forgiveness. No one
has known that God is filled with pain, compelled to go
the path of liberation, even shedding blood.

I did not pray to God even when I collapsed under

torture. Even though I was chased around, I did not
pray to God asking Him to protect me or save me. As a
man, I have my own reserve of strength. I have a good
spirit, and I have the inner strength to fight. I know
that God is waiting, preparing things in advance before
I go. (138-358)

Is there any place of rest for me? My path is a busy

one. I am going this path of resolving the entire
history of thousands of years. I had to walk on the
path of tears for forty years of my life, and the path
continues even now. North Korea should have welcomed
the new garden of God's love where young people
praising God can emerge. Yet seeing humankind tainted
by those who betrayed Him, God had to turn away His
face. We have to make God turn His face back.

Since I attended and lived with God and brought this

system of thought that restores us to our original
state, communism should thank me, and the democratic
world should be even more grateful to me. Let us march
forward to this place!

At the Seodaemoon Prison, one lady evangelist who

persevered in the Unification Church yet left after
things didn't turn out the way she wanted; said to me,
"Look at you. And you call yourself the Son of God?" I
answered, "Yes, I am not someone who would disappear in
prison. I will make great leaps toward the world of
liberation." I will never forget her face. I was sad to
hear that she recently died miserably.

When I came to this earth what position was I in? I

stood in a position to indemnify and release God's
anguish by giving perfected love as the son bearing
God's pain; then to restore the failure to give
perfected love as a sibling; the failure to give
perfected love as a couple; and the failure to giving
perfected love as a parent. (234-140)

You have to live for the sake of others. Based on his

ideal of creation for His partner; God invested,
invested, and invested Himself to multiply true love.
In this way, we have to spread this through the
universe and return to the original homeland, when we
return we should not kick others away as our enemies.
We have to have them naturally submit to us through
love. Without this natural submission, God cannot find
His position. If I think of using trickery I can beat
anyone. Yet since I know this truth I have suppressed
myself. How difficult has it been to suppress my fiery
character for forty years? How much more would it be
with God who is more intense than me? (219-93)
God embraced me

Once I turned around and God embraced me in tears. When

I turned around, saying, "You are the center of my
love. I submit to You. I will absolutely follow You."
God embraced me again. How great is this!

Just as God gave one His position, I must also give

God's position to all of you. (2I 5-341)

Looking back in history, forty years ago I was hunted

by the nation and hunted by established churches like
an orphan expelled to the wilderness. How appalling it
was to be in this position! To fulfill God's will
involved restoring the historical standard and creating
a global domain. (135-187)

I have done these things oblivious to rain and snow. I

went through nights as if they were the morning or
dawn, and even forgot to eat. This task I could not
take lightly because I knew God. More than anybody else
I knew how sorrowful God was. Thus, even if my body
were to be tom apart -- even if it were to become dust
and blown away and if all those cells were to fly away
-- I can still cry out as God's cell. I will grapple
with this path of death, accepting it as worthy.
Grappling with this, I thought I would perish; I
thought I would disappear. But I am still here. (137-
178)

God would offer a thousand thanks to that brave man who

can humbly confess the struggles to come, concerned
that the Father would shed tears if He sees him in
sorrow, worried that God would be in a miserable
position. (153-269)

Walking a lonely path

To this day; I have walked a lonely path. Though there

were many people who were in a lonely position in
history, who cursed their position and asked for
blessings, I did not think like them. Rather, I said,
"God, do not worry." That is what made me different. I
am not one who would retreat because of personal
ordeals.

A person who pledged to overcome the ordeals of the

world and die liberating God cannot write a letter of
surrender in his individual course. He cannot be
cowardly. Even if his wife opposes him he must cut her
away. Even if his children oppose him he must cut them
away. Even if his parents oppose he must cut them away.
He must go the path where even the nation, 40 million
or 60 million people oppose him. (175-257)

Time is short. There is not enough time to rectify this

and compensate for this during a lifetime. That has
been my life course. People in the secular world pity
my life. Try asking God, "That kind of person is Rev.
Moon?" I am going through such sorrow that compels me
to lament. I am experiencing such bitter pain that it
feels like my heart is cut out.

Not all of you know of my bitter past in Hungnam

Prison. Leaving your hometown is not the problem. Your
wife and children are not: the problem. It seems like
yesterday that I cried for those who had welcomed me
and then disappeared into the clouds and hell, into the
world of darkness, still crying out to meet again. It
seems like yesterday that I proclaimed, "Though you
have disappeared, I will go on my path and bring the
bright morning sun to find and liberate you again!" I
cannot forget the sound of saying this in chains. I
cannot forget that sight of praying as a child. (220-
205)

When I said to God, "God, I know You!" God would take

my hand and cry, "How did you find that out, My son!"
Thus He wipes away His tears, stops His weeping, and
says, "My son!" You must understand God's position in
which He needs such a son or daughter. (176-263)

"I will become God's true soldier. No matter how

terrible the battlefield may be for this God, I will
join the front line." That is my determination. I never
once complained to God even when the persecution of the
world came to me, even in a position of lonely
persecution and suffering. This is what I can be proud
of. (193-73)

Have absolute faith in God! If you have absolute faith

in God even in a situation where you could not find
faith to the left or the right, to the north, south;
east or west, to the front or back, you will find
yourself at the central line. With absolute faith you
will find one position. You will find the absolute
position where God resides. From there everything will
begin to be resolved. (188-225)
Think about it. I spent a lot of time in prison. I
spent more than five years in prison. Yet when we think
about how the drops of rain that fall from the gutter
will someday make a hole in a rock, all of you would
know my heart of sorrow as I gazed upon water drops
thinking, "How I wish that the teardrops of my love can
bore a hole through the rock of anguish entangled in
God's heart!" Gazing upon the flowing current, I
thought, "How wonderful would it be if this water
current can invite God, and be pristine water so that
He can come and bathe! How wonderful would it be to
become such a child that can prepare a home or resting
place for God!" (185-45)

How great are the difficulties as we live in this world

of anguish! Who knows what will befall us today? Those
who cannot free themselves from this environment of
fear lead wretched lives. Who will be my teacher? Who
can mentor me amidst this environment of fear and
chaos? There is no teacher. I had to weep bitterly and
struggle because of these problems. If there is a God,
why could He not be the teacher? Actually God is a
teacher whose principle is based on love. Not knowing
this, we felt resentment toward God. He is a teacher
centered on love. (203-228)

Once I came back tired in the evening, slept for awhile

and woke up, washed my face and shaved. Mother looked
at me and said, laughing, "What's the matter? Washing
and shaving you do in the morning!" That is how we
live.

The mind is one. Devotion is one. Try praying, asking

God what kind of person I am. God would wail in sorrow.
He would weep bitterly to the extent that His tongue
would protrude and not go back in. You have to know
that these are the circumstances of my life. (221-163)

From God's point of view, I am the true son and true

parent who will fulfill the ideal of creation of true
love that was lost in the beginning. The Savior is one
who pioneers the path of sacrifice, offering his life
to release God's anguish that began with the human
fall. The Savior is not only in glory. He weeps
together with God's heart and constantly concerns
himself with bringing Satan to his knees. (232-225)

Surpass me in comforting God

Whose God will you make? Will you make America’s God?
Will you make God your own? Which one is it? If you
want to make God your own, you have to work for God
more than for your race. If God loves me, then if you
can make more effort than I do, God would surely love
you more than He loves me. Isn’t that an infallible
formula? There are no objections to this. I want people
who can comfort God more than I do, people who can
render more distinguished service to God. If I wish for
someone lesser than me, I would be a dictator. (I84-
224)

If a marathon runner takes the lead by I00 or I, 000

meters, what happens? If he falls down at some point,
that's the end of it. When a marathon champion runs,
does the audience shout, "Hey, go slow?" They would
say, "Run quickly!" until he drops. Likewise, you have
to set a record. Only when I have the highest record
can I receive God’s greatest gift with a clear
conscience. I have to push myself until then. (230-I36)
The Unificationist concept of husband and wife means
the son and daughter born from God's lineage who
attends the parents for eternity. Only by going through
this position can you heal the hurt that remains in
God's heart because of the human Fall.

Only when you grasp God and say, "Father, how much You
suffered!" can God weep on your shoulder. He would
explode into tears, saying, "Thank you, I've been doing
this for thousands of years in history." Human history
has spanned millions of years. It is not sip thousand
years. This number pertains to the cultural history of
the Bible. Actually it took millions of years. (232-
I38)

You should not sweep away the pain of historical

teachers and God's historical pain. You should gently
pour love in the deepest part of your heart. When you
meet God in the other world you should grasp His neck
and weep in tears, saying, "I knew of Your grief and I
tried to live adjusting to Your sorrow, but I was
lacking. Please forgive me.'' If that kind of heart
precedes you, then even when you weep on God's shoulder
He would weep together with you and embrace you. (184-
246)

Until we meet again; you must think of me day and

night. Think of me when you get hungry. If you don't
eat, do the things I do for God's will. When you get
drowsy, persevere for God's will, thinking about me as
I go on without sleep. You have to think about the
teacher who endures without vindicating himself in the
face of slander. With an even greater heart, you should
be thirsty for tomorrow’s victory and go forth with the
intent of gaining results. Only with these efforts can
you and this race find the path of life. (82-48)

Once I received a call telling me that I was given the

death sentence. How could I spend the night without
tears after hearing this? It was tragic. Do you know
how it feels to be unable to hold on and save those
people who had followed me beyond national barriers yet
never met me, as they walk the final path with their
hands clasped together and yet saying their farewells
towards Korea? Even as I knew the heart of heaven that
pitied those who were captive, in pain, and suffering
under the tribulations of the devil, day and night I
had to drive them to go forward. (201-152)

I never dreamed of becoming the founder of the

Unification Church. Even now it is the same. I do not
have the concept as the founder of a religion. I am
just a commoner. Even today I do not like to wear a
suit or necktie. I am comfortable in a lesser set of
clothes. Why? It is because I know that even at this
moment Unificationists who are spread across the world
are bowing in prayer for my health, longing for me even
as they are drenched in rain. You should not trample on
those who ask for blessings.

Thus when I open my eyes, I cannot find sleep. As a

founder of a religion I live feeling like a sinner.
That is why the Unificationists cannot ignore me. (197-
162)

Unconditional Love
If you want to become the son of God, then you must
possess the heart of righteous indignation that has
penetrated deep into God's heart for 6,000 years. You
should also be able to act on behalf of God's heart,
where the bitter grief is rooted deep. You must also
feel righteous indignation toward the enemy Satan.
Similarly, if you represent the heart of God and
possess the heart of righteous indignation toward the
enemy, you should then become united to move onto the
world level, and you can win the fight against Satan.
Many people today do not realize they have this
mission. The Christian believers emphasize the words of
Jesus, "Love your enemy." However, these words do not
mean that you should love sin and evil within the
enemy, but that you should look upon the person who is
fettered by sin with sympathy. You must understand this
clearly. There cannot be such a thing as unconditional
love. Telling you to love other people is also not
asking you to love the sin of that person, but to love
that person himself. - "Let the Sleeping World Awaken,"

Do the couples who draw up contracts really have the

capacity to enjoy unconditional love, or are they
merely using love as a means of exploitation? …
Marriage means gathering together all your power,
knowledge, money, and yourself, and putting everything
in one package to present to your husband, asking only
for his love in return. You give everything up to him
and in exchange you receive his love. - "The
Resurrection of Jesus and Ourselves," April 10, 1977,

Parents deeply suffer if their child makes a grave

mistake, perhaps becoming a criminal, but that does not
break or lessen the love of the parents. They find
themselves giving out more compassion, love and
sympathy, and feeling even greater anxiety for their
child in jail. That is the heart of the parent. If
their child is sentenced to death, the parents would
not say, "You deserve your death because you committed
such a terrible crime." They will never curse but
desperately search even up until the last minute,

parent has the heart of forgiveness. That is
unconditional love. If the heart of human parents
reacts in such a way to their children, then do you
think that God, the parent of mankind, would be any
different? No, His heart reaches far beyond this. God
is the parent of all parents. The love of God surpasses
the feeling of all the parents of the world. It is only
His forgiveness, the giving and unconditional love of
God, our parent, that can pull all peoples of the world
into unity. It is only through the power of the love of
God that all of mankind will be brought together. -

Do you want the person who can love you conditionally

up until this limit and no more, or unconditionally and
blindly? I don't know what you think, but I think love
which is all-powerful and unconditional is most
desirable. Conditional love isn't even love. I want to

the fulfillment of love. What kind of love would you go
for? Only love that will be manifested in a clean,
sweet-smelling place, or are you intoxicated in love so
that you are always giving unconditional devotion? If

kind of love, you are truly the happy person. When I
look at the spirit world I see that the highest realms

God's tradition is one of unconditional love; He

doesn't want to receive love first and then give love.
Parental love is unconditional, even towards sinners.

Parents have a certain characteristic -- for the sake

of the children they are willing to do anything and go
anywhere, just as blood cells wouldn't mind going to
smelly feet, or to the brain, to the hands, anywhere.
Even in the fallen world the purest quality to be found
is still parental love because it is the closest thing
to God. The best example of what conjugal love should
be like is the unconditional love of parents for
children; that is how a husband and wife should love
each other. If you want to be a patriot, take parental
love as your model. Ideal love must be patterned after
parental love; then you cannot go wrong, for when you
follow parental love you come closest to the central

Let's look at the standard of love established by God.
How much did God love His own enemy? God loves His
enemy so much that He sacrificed His own son in order
to save His enemy. If you can pour out such unlimited,
unconditional love for your enemy then Satan will give
up and say, "I could never do that. I could never be in
the position to receive such love." At that point Satan
will surrender and retreat. Satan knows the way of the
Principle. He has a certain conscience and he realizes
that he cannot be loved to the same degree as God; he
knows he does not deserve that kind of love. This is
the love that Jesus Christ demonstrated on the cross.
Even wounded and dying, Jesus forgot about himself and
loved his enemies and asked forgiveness for them. Under
such circumstances, however vicious the enemy may be,
as long as even one ounce of conscience remains in his
heart he cannot help but bow down and surrender. "I do
not deserve such treatment," he will confess. "I cannot
afford such treatment." By practicing this you can
completely separate yourself from your enemy -- and you
will discover that you have no enemy. When you reach
that level of perfection of love, you can enter a new

I am thinking that the blessed children should be
married at an earlier age because I want them to be
certain of marrying their first love. If each of you
had been able to be blessed with your first love
intact, you would feel so happy and grateful. You would

When Adam and Eve were created, God showered true love
upon them without expecting any immediate return. He
was the initiator. A newborn baby has no understanding
of the love of its parents. That baby, however, is
dwelling in an environment of unconditional love,
vertical love, which the father and mother bestow upon
it. This exact situation existed when the first man and
woman were created. True love came to them from God. We
are supposed to come into an awareness of the love of
God just as babies grow and come into an awareness of

yourself; you must bring your Cain with you. That is

nearest position with which you can sustain a love

love next best is your husband or wife. The

love. Therefore, all of you are heartistically indebted
to God. Even though God doesn't ask you to pay the
heartistic debt, you have to participate in His
situation and follow His will if you wish to regard
yourselves as His children. Interests or consequences
cannot intervene in the parent/child relationship. Only
love exists between them. Children don't work to pay
their debt to their parents; rather they participate in
their parents' work because the parents' matters are
